The boy and the chicken - TRUE

Yesterday I'm driving home from work. I'm on a 3 lane road - 2 lane's on my side and 1 lane going the opposite direction. I pass the strangest sight - a boy on a bicycle with a full grown chicken sitting on his shoulder just looking all around and enjoying his view. Ok, the light stops us and everyone is watching the chicken. The boy decides to cross all 3 lanes of traffic to turn into a small shopping center. He gets across one lane and is coming across my lane - directly in front of me and then proceeds to cross the lane of traffic coming directly towards him. Cars that were turning off another road were heading right for him. I guess the boy got nervous and he almost dropped the bike which scared the chicken which then flew off the boys shoulder and into my lane. The boy, with disregard to the oncoming traffic - drops his bike and starts chasing this chicken all across the entire road. The chicken is darting between cars and running under cars and is having a grand old time. The boy looks helpless as he dives under cars and inbetweeen cars. He was almost hit twice before all traffic came to a complete standstill while this poor boy continues to chase his chicken. It was hysterical. One moment you would see the chicken run out in the street and under a car followed by the boy and then you could see neither of them as they are under the cars. It was a miracle that nobody was hurt, including the chicken. He finally grabs a leg and gets a good hold on the chicken and raises him up for everybody to see. Some people were laughing and some were just plain irritated. I was laughing and shaking my head because it was something I would have done. The boy and the chicken made a safe getaway. The chicken was no longer perched on the boys shoulder but instead was inside the boys shirt and being held firmly with one arm. I hope they made it home!!!

Oh I love it, Debbie!!!!  You know...it came to mind as I read that...no matter where we are or how far away from God we get, He is always there protecting us and trying to reach us and bring us back, just as this boy was protecting this chicken.  (Although the chicken may have been supper LOL).  Thank you so much for this.  I love you!!!!
