Hey Guys and Gals
Hope everyone has a great Memorial Day Holiday.
Remember our soldiers and their families in your prayers, especially these next few days, since we "owe" these holidays and time off because they give their "all".
I know I appreciate my two soldiers and all they have done and all that they are still doing!
Just a quick update on us....Fish just got a promotion....thank goodness...it's been 5 years since the "RIF" - i.e. reduction in force, and no raises or cost of living raises even though he was putting in more hours than ever before!
Rob, is still full time with the guard and no talk of Iraq so far. Thank goodness! Twice is enough for this momma.
Sam, is having another child in early January. They are excited. This Nana isn't so sure BUT hey, A man still thinks Nana is the best! He wants to stay here as much as possible! IDEA - maybe when the next one gets here - he can move to Nana's! Sounds like a wonderful idea to me!
Aiden is talking ninety to nothing. Some things we understand and others we don't! But he has the eye roll thing down pat! So if you don't understand what he's saying....you sure understand the eye roll and the sign language with the "moving" hands.
Work on my end is getting crazier by the day. Some days I just want to run away FOREVER!
I hired two new people yesterday since we will now have a second shift starting in June. So that's two more folks who will holler at me on a regular basis!
I love my patients. I love taking x-rays. I am thankful that I have a job in these trying times. BUT Lord knows, some days I just need a break!
With work, children, grand children and Fish still not able to use his right hand....I guess you could say I am just TIRED!
Didn't mean to turn this into a pity party!
Just needed "my OH family" and their understanding.
Hope every one is doing great!
Now, back to actual WL issues. I had gained 21 pounds after the doctor put me on some new meds for my bipolar. But today, thank goodness, I have lost those 21 pounds. So I am back to an even 200. So I am back to being half the woman I was!
I am walking 3 to 4 days a week again. I am doing great on my protein, my vitamins and exercise. WATER is my issue! I hate it! Always have! Back to my famous diet coke and love it more now than I did before surgery! I'm addicted!
So maybe, if I could kick this habit - I would be at the 170 pounds that Dr. Mora thinks I need to be at! YEAH, RIGHT!
OFF the subject......one of the new guys that I just hired worked with Dr. Mora during surgery at Prattville where I had my surgery. When I read it on his application....I was about to have a fit!
So when the interview was over and off the record....I point blank asked him if he had seen me neeaakkedd! When he asked what type of surgery I had.....I said gastric bypass....he said no, but I probably saw you the next morning with your gown on trying to take sips of barium to see if you had a leak!
Thank goodness, 200 pounds and 5 years later.....he didn't remember a naked hiney in a skimpy hospital gown!
Okay, guys and gals! I have worked over 40 hours this week and still some to go....so I need to hush!
Hope your holiday is great!

Hi Lisa,
Great to hear from you. I hope you have a great Memorial Day Holiday too! Thanks for the reminder of what this holiday is all about and who have given their all for us to be able to have this holiday or any day to do what we want to freely!!
Looks like we are going to have torrential rains all weekend. They are predicting Tropical Rain all weekend into Monday! My sister is planning on having our entire family (consisting of four of us sisters and one brother and spouses, children and grandchildren totaling about 30 people) over to her house for a last cook-out. She has a very large yard and is moving during this month to a larger home, but a smaller yard. With this rain looming over us I can't image moving it indoors to my DS's about 1000-1100 sq.ft. home. But she doesn't want to cancel!! I wll do an unrain dance to keep the rain away at least Monday afternoon.
Wonderful news about Fish's promotion. That is exceptional news in today's economy and so many others getting laid off or pay cuts. Give him a high five from me!! Also great that Rob is stateside. I'll pray that he stays here for the duration. Okay Nana you and A-man have to give the new one a break and lots of attention. Take it from a grandma of three boys, (almost 7yo, 4 yo, and 18mo.) The 7yo tended to jump in my lap everytime I tried to hold the second one, when they were alot younger. It took me a year or two and then I finally figured it out and had to put a stop to it. It helped me to understand how a grandparent could show partiality to one child, especially the first child. You are closer to them because they are the first, but the other two need my attention also so I nipped it in the bud!!
Oops, sorry to go on and on.
I know what you mean about TIRED!!! Work, work, and more Work. Like 'they' say (whoever 'they' are):
A woman's work is NEVER done!!!
You come here anytime you want to throw a pity party and I will be happy to join you and listen to you vent!! This OH family is the place to come. Everyone here is GREAT when you need them!
GREAT news too about losing the weight you had regained! Good job, you GO GIRL!!! I had regained 66lbs and have relost 21 to 23lbs of that, it's according to what day it is. I try not to weigh every day because I get OCD about the whole thing. I try to weight 2 or 3 times a week at most and really would like to just weght on Friday's. When I started gaining I avoided the scales and I think that was the beginning of the end. I can eat sugar...yes after 4 years I tested it and I don't dump on sugar like I thought I would. Earlier after the surgery I did dump evenon sweets made with Splenda, just the high carbs would do it.
I want to lose about 20-25 more and I wuld be at 170-175 and would be happy.
I'll close this book!! LOL Hope to talk to you again soon!! Love to you and share it with Fish!!

Connie,
I know what you mean about the down pour! It's raining cats and dogs and I think there's some fish out there as well!
Yes, Aiden truly has a "hold" on this Nana! The way we are you would think he is the first grandchild, BUT he's number 5! And now number 6 is on it's way!
Really he is the first one that I get to see almost every day. Rob's situation doesn't allow us to get to see the first four like we would like to, but that's okay. One day, it will all work out with that situation.
I know what you mean about getting OCD with this weight thing! There for a while I thought I was "failing" at this too! But then I had to remind myself that I had a "tool" so I just had to dust it off, wipe it down and start using it again like at the beginning. Now we all know that isn't easy to do. But I am determined I am not gonna be a 400 pound woman again!
So I have tried to do the right things BUT it's hard. I have to just look at a picture of Fish and I that was taken just before I had surgery and I keep telling myself ---- you never want to look and feel like that again.
Almost five years out, it's not as easy as the beginning! That's for sure!
I don't really dump on "sugar" but like you, those carbs will get me every time! Especially any type of potatoes!
As Fish says "thank goodness" for chicken. I still don't do beef well either. Chicken is my staple - thank goodness I really like it!
Well, let me close. Like you said, let me close this book. It's been a long week and with all this rain maybe, just maybe I will get to sleep past 4 am in the morning!
Your friend always,
Lisa and Fish

SO good to hear from you! Tell Sam CONGRATS! We miss you! Torey moved back home yesterday! He made it official. He is transfering college to Snead. State. I'm transfering to UAH to be a school teacher. Things are on the move in the Culpepper home IF I can stop falling down the stairs! LOL
Love you all and take care!

For every Goliath, there is a Stone! His name is Jesus!"
Hey Dude,
I know you are excited about Torey moving home!
Even though Sam can drive me nuts - I am so thankful that she's right across the road!
Especially when she calls and I hear my A man hollering .....moan nana! I will be so glad when he can say.....come on nana!
I will tell her congrats from y'all.
She is hoping for a girl BUT if nana and paw paw (aiden doesn't call Fish Pop like all the other babies do!) get a wish in there - it will be another young man!
Just love those boy babies!
I guess that's why Rob and Aiden's so spoiled!
What's Allison saying about him being home? Excited or like Sam......she liked all the attention after Rob left home!
I hope you are doing better after the accident! Just take care of your self!
Y'all be sweet and try to be more careful.

Hey there Lisa!!!! It is so good to hear from you. You are so right...we should show appreciation to those who have sacrificed for all of us. I have a couple in my family that I do appreciate so much....different wars...same scenerio. Sounds like you have been busy. Our criminal load at work is awful now. I have never seen it like this. I am thrilled that you have lost that weight. I still am hanging on to the last 30 that I need to lose. I wi**** would leave LOL. You take care and please let us hear about that new baby, too. Love ya!!
Hey Wonderful Sweet Lady,
I just love seeing your smiling face on your avatar!
It brings a smile to my face every time!
Yes, we definitely share a common ground when it comes to our families and all that they have done and are doing to keep us free and safe here in the great U.S. of A!
So with that being said......how is my (or yeah, she's really yours) girl? I hope she is doing wonderful! She so deserves it!
And I hope Mr. John is behaving?! You know, still trying to get Fish to learn that trick BUT he still hasn't learned it - I'm afraid to say! LOL!
Yes, work has been totally crazy! This swine flu (H1N1 flu) has every one coming to the doctor so that means I get to x-ray them or take their blood. One or the other!
Last week, I was out three days myself. I was running a really high fever and nauseated. Went to the doctor to be sure I didn't have it myself. But he said no flu but I did have viral syndrome. So I finally got to go back after the fever broke......my ladies that work for me was relieved. They almost worked them to death while I was out.
I'm just thankful my little man didn't get it! I threaten his momma to stay at home and he was NOT to come up that hill to Nana's! I didn't care how much he fussed and raised cane!
So when I finally got to see him on Tuesday of this week, he just fell into my arms and said.....my Nana, love my Nana! It was awesome to know some one could love you that much!
Okay, I'll rattle forever if allowed.
Hope you are doing wonderful and have a great holiday with all your babies!

Oh Lisa...I just have to tell you...our little girl got married about a month ago and she and her new husband (whom I love) just bought a beautiful new home in Anniston. God has blessed her so. She is still in school...getting her BS in nursing and hopefully on to UAB after that for her nurse anesthetist (?) degree. She loves nursing. I am so thrilled for her. My guys are all doing great. Sorry about rattling on about my little one...but I know you love her too. Thanks so much, Lisa. I love you!!

I always love it when I see a post from you because I know we will be able to catch up with you and Mr. Fish.
My life is always hectic, busy, full of surprises, stressfull, fun and amazing. I never know what to expect but God has been so good to me so I'm learning not to complain.
I was creeping back up close to 250 before the cancer last August. I'm now down to right at 200 and pushing the 199 mark. I want it off and I want it to stay off this time. I have osteoporosis and the spots on my ribs turned out to be hairline fractures - several of them. My bones are so thin. I had a yearly injection of Reclast last week and so hopefully we'll get this thing turned around.
My busy season is almost here and a 40 hour week will be in the past. It will be more like a 60 hour week. I'm trying to get my body ready for the hardship because it truly does take a toll on me when I'm healthy. I'm on my way back to being healthy but I still have many periods of weakness and I've been doing a lot of stumbling. My balance is completely out of whack. It scares Leo but I've learned to just stop and stand still for a minute when I feel it coming on.
So good to hear from you and I can't wait to see you guys again.
Love,
DebbieDoo
