New to the AL forum
Hi, my name is Amy I'm 27 years old 5ft 3 1/2 inches tall and 267 lbs. I have diabetes, PCOS, high bp, amemia, acid reflux, and last but not least anxiety. I'm having RNY with Dr. Edward Facundus on June 10th and I'm super excited and nervous. I'm trying my best to prepare, I've done all of my labs, etc.. my pre-ops June 4th. I recently bought a Magic Bullet, I've seen a lot of recommendations for one on the main forum it should arrive today. I've started a food journal. Well it's an everything journal. I've got lots of before pictures and my story in it along with my virtual model I've created. I'm trying to stock up on grocerires and protein before my big day, anyone have any suggestions. I've been eating Pure Protein bars for breakfast all week there not too bad. By the way I live in Decatur, does anyone know of a support group around here. I'd also love to get to know some people around here, just to talk or hang out, I don't have many friends and the ones I do have are skinny and in no way relate to my obesity problems. Sorry this is so long. I'll finish by saying Hi Everyone.
Hi Amy, Welcome to the Alabama Board. Let me introduce myself to you, my name is Charlotte, I am married, 2 kids, 14 & 5, I have 2 cats and 3 dogs. I live in Moulton, but work in Decatur. Since you live in Decatur, maybe we can meetup sometimes. You were asking about support groups... You may want to check with Parkway Hospital/ Dr. William Suggs. Sometimes they have support groups, but I've never attended any of them. Dr. Suggs is the doctor that did my RNy and I have to say, he has totally changed my life. I love him dearly.
Anytime you want to holler at me with questions or concerns go for it...
Glad to meet you!

Hi there Amy and welcome to the Bama Board. It is so great to have you here. I know you are so excited about beginning your new life. I am a Pure Protein Bar addict LOL. I love those things. I am 3 1/2 years out and still love my protein shakes (that I make) and the bars. I have a protein shake most every morning. A Magic Bullet is a great investment. It sounds as though you are starting out right. Please let us hear from you and share your progress with us. I wish you all the best in your new and exciting journey.

We're surgery twins....well sorta. I had my lap-band surgery in Sept 06 but I'm having plastic surgery on the same date you're having RNY. (having panneculectomy and tummy tuck) We've all been where you are. Nervous one second and excited the next, thinking the day will never come and that something my happen between now and then to keep it from really happening. I'm excited for you. It's the best thing I ever did in my life. I'm so glad you found us. Please ask anything you like, there is lots of experience and really nice people on this board.
