Calorie question--? P;ease help--am I consuming too many?
I am eating (and drinking) around 600 calories per day and averaging about 83 grams of protein. Is this too many calories at 3 weeks out. Some of the posts I read indicate people cannot eat this many calories and are having a difficult time getting protein shakes and food down--but so far I am not having difficulty.
Most of my calories come from protein shakes (Matrix) but I supplement with some eggs, beans, mashed potatoes, peas, beans, cottage cheese, cheese.
My nut never really went into calories--just emphasized shakes and 5 or 6 meals and snacks of 3 to 4 ozs concentrating on protein.

At this point in your journey you cannot eat too many calories. Anything that will have high calories such as sweets and fats will make you dump. Eat at regular times and until you are full. Believe me you haven't lived until that first dump. You may think you are having a heart attack but it will pass in ten to twenty minutes. You may have to go to the bathroom and then you will be sleepy.
Also you are about at the point for your first plateau. This can be discouraging but it is the body's way of catching up on the weight loss and making adjustments. The first one can last for days or even three or more weeks, ( my first one was for three weeks). You will think all kinds of bad things just because you have stopped losing weight. Keep with the program with the protein and water and the plateau will eventually break. When it does stay close to the bathroom because you will start losing liquids at a fast pace, i.e. pee, pee, pee. You will probably have a five pound loss in 24 hours.
