New Bicycle

I bought a new bicycle today....a two wheeler.  So far, I cannot ride it.  The handle bars are at an odd angle and I cannot get the screw loose to turn them in another direction.  I just sprayed the bolt with WD 40 and hope that will loosen it up in a little while.

I am having a hard time getting started to riding it....I know what to do, but it seems I cannot get my right leg to cooperate.   I will keep trying, because I really enjoy a bike.

Hi Jan!  I have a recumbent bike in my home gym and love it.  It's my favorite piece of exercise equipment.

I hope you're doing well!

You can tell how old I am...it is just a two wheeler, coaster brake bike to me.  It is even the same color as the one that I rode from the time I was 7 until I graduated from high school.  My old bike was older than I was.  This one is new, but it is very simple.   I have to get the handle bars up, but even the neighbor couldn't break the screw loose.  I may have to take it to the bike shop to just get it done.

Good morning Karla,
I'm with you.  I want the old fashioned kind with coaster brakes.  I don't want handbrakes,  I just want a simple bike that doesn't take too much coordination to ride!!  Guess I'm showing my age too!!!

Christ's peace,

Good for you!  The best feeling in the world is the wind in your hair during a fun bike ride.  You know what they say about bike riding, once you learn, you never forget!

Hi Karla!  I hope you get the handle bars worked out and enjoy your new bike!  Just be careful.

I have discovered that you actually do forget how to ride a bicycle.  I know what to do and how to do it, but the body doesn't seem to be able to do it.  It is really an odd feeling to know what you are supposed to do, but your artificial knee will not cooperate.  I am having to learn how to ride all over again.

I am taking the handle bars to the bike shop tomorrow and maybe they will know how to get the thing loose enough to adjust the handlebars.  I think my bike riding will greatly improve with everything correctly adjusted.
