Swine Flu in Madison County
Looks like Swine Flu is in Alabama for sure and more specifically, in Madison County.
Breaking news on WAFF-48 tonight is that there are two cases of it at Heritage Elementary School in Madison and that the school will be shut down for seven days.
Additionally ALL schools in Madison County including Huntsville City schools will be closed on Thursday and Friday of this week.
Remember everyone...WASH YOUR HANDS CONSTANTLY!
Looks like that is about the best defense.

Yes, we should always be cautious being around sick people and ALWAYS practice good hygiene, but, pardon me if I just do a cut and paste, because I agree 100% with this lady from R & R. (And see the two other good news links also posted on R & R). Makes me wonder what exactly is behind all the media-driven hysteria...

Post Date: 4/29/09 1:47 pm That is horribly sad. I am not trying to minimize the child's death, please understand that. What confuses me is, thousands of people die every year from Community Acquired Pneumonia, and I don't mean just the elderly, people of all ages, yet nobody is freaking over this. Nobody. You have to BEG for a pneumonia vaccine. You have to meet minimal requirements for your insurance to cover it, yet it kills thousands. Where is the common sense? What is the reasoning behind this? Just does not seem to make sense, no matter how many times you look at it. This is the flu, the flu kills many people every year, nobody freaks. Change the name and people panic. Tara And above all things, never think that you're not good enough yourself. A man should never think that. My belief is that in life people will take you at your own reckoning. Isaac Asimov |
