We went and seen the inside of the restaurant and the last people that renteded it stole every single item that goes in the kitchen. the AC, and a ton of other items....thereis no way I can open it with no stove, sink, frig, sprinkler syste, etc.

However we walked in every building she owns and had a long talk.  She owns that whole strip and it contains a laundry mat, above it is 6 1 bedroom apartments, 2 stores, restaurant , and 10 apartments (kitchenettes).  Her husband died last year and folks have really messed this women over.

I told her to give me an apartment to use as an office and I will help her get her properties back in order and rented out to people who is going to pay her and act right.  Her response was exactly this:

"I'll give you, your hubby and 2 sons, 2 appartments to live in, you can use the office in the laundry mat and manage all of my properties as well as the laundrymat!  I'll pay you per hour plus let you live in the apartments rent free!"  Keep in mind she only charges $400 a month on these apartments and she pays all the bills plus they are totaly furnished.  My mouth like to have hit the floor.  I was stunned and excited.  We also talked abotu me renting the best store and open a Hispanic Store and also sell things like Dollar Store items.  She said she would only charge me the $300 per month if I wanted to do that tooo.  Not to mention we can still seal items like Tamales, Tortas and Empanadas (just not cook them there).  Plus she offered my hubby work around the appartments when needed.

WOW!  I have a lot to think about!  My mind is still spinning.  I'm confused, yet happy.  Does that even make any sence?

Please pray as we go to court in the AM for the neighborhood dog that hangs out at my place killing a little dog of the neighbors.  THe man insists that the dog is mine, when the owner actually left for Mexico a few months back.  The whole neighborhood feeds the dog!  GEEz, he is suing for $1,500.

Hi Moondancer,

This would be a dream come true for me.  My cousin who lives in New Mexico is a Property Manager and her hubby is the handy man and they LOVE it!  This is a block from the police station and I feel safe in the area.  The kids are homeschooled so no worries there with that.
It's just a matter of time and getting things going.  It could take up to 1 1/2 - 2 months to get started.  1st thing is first and that is move in and finish the apartments, then start taking applications for rental.  I plan on doing some back ground and reference checks!!!!  I want these folks screened well before moving in.

As for the laundry mat, I already have a weekend worker so I am good to go on that part too!
All I will have to do is get the office set up.  She will put in a computer and telephone for me.  That way I can have the fax and all that available.  Then I believe we will set.  I was thinking about doing a laundry drop off Thursday-Saturday  8am - 8pm.  That way we can wash peoples clothes for them and make even more money.  I mean it isnt all that hard, I've helped a good friend of mine when she use to work at a full service laundry mat!

I'm so excited!!!!!!  Hubby and I talked and we may wait to start the store but we are for sure taking her up on the other offers!!!
