What a gorgeous day it was.....
HE IS ALIVE INDEED. PRAISE GOD. It was a beautiful day today and we had a wonderful lunch with wonderful friends. Our first at entertaining in our new home. Although there is still much work to be done, we had several couples and friends over from church for Easter lunch who otherwise would have been alone. It was great, the food, the fellowship everything. We didn't get to spend time with our grandson or the kids. Jill and her bf came in this afternoon and have been here ever since, so we did get to have dinner with them and my Daddy tonight. We've all sat and watched Jurassic Park and that was good. (like I haven't seen it a 100 times already, but each time is just as intense as the first. haha) My SF strawberry trifle was the bomb. No one could believe it was sugar free.
Yesterday, Holly and I took Christian Easter Egg hunting and that baby boy found 43 eggs. He would walk right past the ones they had on the ground for the little ones and he would HUNT down the hidden ones. Of course we did prompt him to pick up a few on the ground along the way but he wanted to HUNT for his eggs. That little rascal found several "special" eggs that had dollar bills and change in them. He wound up with about $8. We then took him to the mall and walked around and he rode some of the cars and stuff. He squealed with delight. He was such a character yesterday. His personality is really blossoming. I plan on keeping him a few days this week while we are on SPRING BREAK and we're planning a trip to the zoo too. I can't wait to see him with all those animals and of course we will ride the train. Yippeeeee, I can't wait.
Anyway, I hope you all had a wonderful and blessed Easter weekend. Now, the perfect ending to the perfect day.....it's raining..... fantastic. Kyle and my Daddy set out a small garden in our back yard yesterday. I went and got tomato, bell pepper, hot and sweet banana pepper and jalapeno plants and Daddy set out some green beans and okra seed. He and my uncle did his garden earlier yesterday. I also got some beautiful begonias set out in my cement flower pots and if I had the money (which I don't) I would load down the flower beds with pretty flowers. I have had these same 2 cement pots for years, so I fixed them up and got them out and they look beautiful. Daddy got us 4 azaleas to put out in the beds where some had been before but had died. Things are really starting to shape up around here. We also got some grass seed out today. Kyle and Clint (Jill's bf) have been digging up huge roots on the side of our driveway for several days and finally got them all up yesterday, so out went the grass seed just before it began to rain.
Finances are really beginning to run short, so Kyle has had to take on a few painting jobs, so that we can finish up the painting needed in our house. Everthing has been done except the trim work and doors and he did finish up the kitchen cabinets, and trim in the kitchen, dining room and den. Still a lot to go though.....but it will be alright. He's been working himself to death. I just wish I knew how to paint like he does, but I'd just mess everything up. LOL
I didn't mean to write an entire book but here goes anyway.
Love and hugs,
Loretta
We really enjoyed every moment of this weekend...from spending one on one time with Olivia as we got manicures/pedicures and went shopping to the ceremony on Saturday. Then, yesterday was special as we celebrated Easter. We hid eggs for Jessie and ate together an untraditional meal of grilled hamburgers and hotdogs. The weather was perfect each moment of the way.
We were also able to spend time with Dalton too...and he's just growing up on us! We enjoy spending time with him SO MUCH, and he's such a good baby too!
I just feel SO BLESSED to have had the time I had this weekend with my family...it means the world to me.
