My problem is I am not losing the weight and I am not getting my period I got it once since my surgery on 2/2/09 and what I am seeing is that I have been losing inches but not weight. I am in a size 12 now which is better then the 18 I was in. I am working out 3-4 times a week and taking a body pump class which the logo is "When your body screams tell it to shut up" So I can tell I am building a little muscle but I have only lost 5 lbs in the month of march. Its just bumming me out and I am thinking that maybe its cause they did the surgery wrong. I am however not doing protein shakes I am trying to get in my protein by eating meats cheese and milk. Anyone have any suggestions?

Stalls are normal. You have just undergone major surgery.
Cheese and milk are not enough. You are probably starving. Are you getting your fluid? YOU NEED 60 grams or more of protein DAILY. Drink a protein shake for goodness sake.
Your surgery was not done wrong. You need to follow your protocol and EAT .
Sorry , no sunshine and rainbows.

A casual stroll through the lunatic asylum shows that faith does not prove anything.

You have dropped 3 dress sizes in 2 months!!! How can you say you are not losing the weight????? It took me much longer than 2 months to drop 3 sizes so you are doing great. You probably need to mention to your doctor about your period. I know that sometimes when the body goes through surgery, no matter how small we may think it is, it is still a shock to our system and things can go haywire. I agree with Renee, you may be starving your body so her suggestion is worth listening to.

I hope you take a good look at what you HAVE accomplished and don't spend too much time on how much you have not lost. Like I can talk, LOL. I did the same thing so I know what you are going through. Sometimes it helps not to weigh so often, instead maybe take your measurements once a month and look at the good results. You're gonna keep going down so don't give up!!! It's just normal to want to see 10 to 15 pounds drop every month but it doesn't happen that way. Everybody is different and as long as you are dropping dress sizes, you're doing good!!!

No need to apologize for complaining. It's a very real problem to you right now and most all of us have been there and done that. Once you get further along you can look back and see that you did a great job. It's human nature to want it NOW so there' nothing wrong in how you're thinking. I remember my first couple of months, I weighed every single day and some days I'd be up and others I'd be down. Maybe keep a journal of what you're eating and add up the calories and protein and keep an eye on what you're doing.

By the way, you can come complain anytime you want to. That's part of what this board is about. Getting responses from people who have been there already.

God Bless You,

I remember being early post op and stalling like that. Dont fret hun, it will come off. Some months it will be less, some months more. I always lost the week before my AF, which I thought was weird. Id stall and stall and then poof id have a 5-6 lbs loss. What you have lost so far is great and  a size 12 is nothing to complain about. You should do some protein shakes, it will help also, like Iris said, lots of water. That is still the make or break for me, more water, more weight loss.

I agree...you need to get in more protein.  Drink some shakes.  It will help kick start the loss again.  You are going great!
