Pro-op requirements

If anyone used Dr. Lee Schmitt in Birmingham, could you please tell what his pre-op requirements are: diet etc..!  I hear that all doctors have their own requirements.  Thanks!    Jackie

Hi Jackie.  I don't know anything about Dr. Schmitt but wanted to hop in and say hello!!!  I am from South Alabama and had my surgery in Mobile.  Maybe someone can help with your questions.

Thank you for hopping in to say "hello", that was so kind of you.  I live in Carrollton, GA, that is west of Atlanta.  We are 13 miles from the Alabama line.  I have chosen a doctor in Birmingham for my WLS.  The seminar is on 4/18 and I am looking so forward to this whole journey.  How did you do on your journey and was it worth it?  You take care.

Jackie, there are more from GA that are members of our AL board family.  There is Tammy Long and I can't remember where she is from and Lindy S. from Carrollton I think.  Do you know her.  She posts from time to time.  I am sure there are others but my OLD brain is not working tonight.  Oh my... this journey has been amazing.  I had RNY July 1, 2004.  I did not"change" my life style while I had the chance so I am having a time now trying to stay on track.  I would do it again and again.  As a matter of fact, I would love to do it again and know what I know now.  Please do keep us informed about your journey.  There are some great people on this board and you will love being here!!!

I don't know because I had a different surgeon, but just wanted to say hello and welcome.  Have you signed up for a seminar?  *Most* surgeons do a free seminar where you can find all that stuff out, or at least get started.  Call his office and check that out.

Hi Kay,  Thank you and hello!  So nice of you to welcome me.  I am Jackie and I live in Carrollton, GA.  I have Wellcare (a medicare approved health plan) and can not find a doctor in GA that takes Wellcare.  I did find one in SC (5 hrs.one way) that takes it.  I was suppose to go today to their seminar.  The more I thought about having to drive all that distance, the more I was having second thoughts about it.  So, I started calling different doctors in other states and found Dr. Schmitt in Birmingham (2 hours one way).  So, that's how I ended up in Alabama.  I have signed up for their seminar and it is on 04/18.  I know I will learn all this at the seminar, but I was just curious to know before hand.  Thanks again and have a great Sunday.

Hi Carmen,  Thank you for stopping by and say hello.  You are the third or fourth one to just stop and say hello and welcome.  That just kinda blew me away.  They are some nice people out there.  That is very impressive.  Thanks to all of you that have welcomed me and I will keep you all informed on my progress.
