New here and Hello

I posted on the main forum but I guess I should have posted here instead?

Anyways, I'm new here and wanted to say hello and introduce myself.  I'm 37 and married with no children yet.  I'm a Painting Student at the University of South Alabama and am graduating this coming May.

I have BC/BS AL and went through the 6 month diet and was approved in 1 day.  Yesterday I finalize my surgery date for May 4, 2009 so that I can continue to concentrate on school and graduate.  Then I will start my new path of weight loss after that.

It looks like this site and forums has been around a long time.  I didn't realize it exsisted until recently.  I'm also a member of a couple of band yahoo groups and have been keeping up with posts there for support.

I have a long way to go but I am so excited and ready to start!

Hi Demi,

I live in Chickasaw and work in Mobile.  I had Open RNY October 2004.  My surgeon is Dr. Weinstein, one of the senior doctors in with Dr. Hannon...a great group of surgeons.  They have a support group I am sure you are aware of .  There is also a support group that meets every third Tuesday night at the Providence Hospital at 7 p.m.  If you want to be put on the list...let me know and I will put you in touch with the leaders.

Welocme to the Bama Board Demi!  You can post on the main board too, but this is a great place to meet nice people.  I hope everything goes well with your surgery.  Keep posting and keep us updated!
