Dalton had his interview for New Century today. It is a specialized high school, and a school of choice. The principal talked to D for about an hour. Of course according to D's grades ( all A's) and teacher reccomendations he got in. He has already plotted his course of study for freshman year. BTW--New Century has no problem with facial piercings.

So on we go to D's midle school. I have in hand copies of the school handbooks dress code and the official city schools handbook. The only thing that is mentioned is that no jewelry that can be used as a weapon is to be worn. I ask for the counselor, but she was busy. So I left her a message to call me to discuss the nose piercing. I did mention that there is nothing against it in either handbook. The office staff had no choice but to agree. The nose ring stays!! Chalk one up for mom, who knows the dress code frontwards and backwaeds: I have already fought this battle with my other 2 sons. And WON.
