Grandson injured-long=need prayers
Hey everybody,
I posted this earlier today but when I posted thank you to Secret Pal, it replaced the original post.
Requesting prayers. My grandson Ethan fell out of the back of a pu truck down the street from his house. Stupid mistake on my SIL's part. He's a good daddy, made a mistake. Ethan is okay...He had a deep gash in his left hand so an orthopedic surgeon was called in to stick it up, also his left elbow was stitched up. He has 3 staples in the top of his head and road rash on his head. Praise God there was no concussion, no broken bones, no spinal or neck injuries. They did admit him last night because the sewed his hand up in the OR and put him to sleep to do it. They wanted to watch him. My DD insisted they do extra xrays of his neck because he complained so much and would not move from his waist up. He usually acts like he doesn't even feel pain (he is the one who will be 4 May 4th). He is a tough little guy. The doctor said he basically has a whiplash. His daddy was taking their dog Daisy, a boxer riding around the block to teach her to stay in the back of his pu truck. His older brother usually rides too, but he and DD were at ball practice. Daisy knocked him out of the truck. It IS NOT against the law or children to ride in the back of trucks in Chickasaw...The police were called to the emergency room and assured SIL that he knew it was nothing criminal and was just an accident. SIL said kids would never be in back of truck again. He is really beating himself up! He really is a GREAT dad...a hardworking young man and a good husband and provider. He is only 26 years and and he and my DD have been married since they were 19 years old. He is young, but he is a good DADDY!
Today the police decided to call in DHR and are talking of possible charges...we all understand that they are only concerned for the safety of the children...and there is nothing to hide, but it is still very scary for all concerned. PLEASE PRAY for the whole family. The uncertainty of Ethan's heath has drained us all, the shame, fear and self loathing that my SIL feels, no amount of punishment could be worse. I KNOW he is a good person and I hope he gets a fair social worker. You hear so many horror stories of innocent parents losing their children and then children being returned to horribly abusive parents. I told my daughter that I would ask for prayers from everyone here and that along with their complete cooperation and honesty and everything would be okay. I have faith in God, but I am fearful of the system. Pray for us all please. I love you all and thank you for listening.

Oh goodness. I'm so glad he's okay and I know your DD and SIL are so upset over this. Even the best parents make mistakes Connie. I hope and pray it all works out. What's ridiculous is that something like this can be made a big deal of and then there are those parents who don't give two cents about their kids and get away with it!

I will keep the whole family in my prayers. The same thing happend here New Years Eve. Several teenagers were coming back from hunting. They were less than a half mile from one boys house. His cell phone rang and he leaned over to pick it up. Lost his balance and fell out head first. He is still out of school and having problems but they do expect a full recovery. And as for the SIL beating himself up. Thats natural too. My nieces son(when he was 6) was running thru the living room his daddy reached out and grabbed his arm. It snapped. Just that quick. Stuff happens. (Austins arm has been broken twice since then)
And as for the DHR investigating. Thats their job. To make sure the kids are protected. I'm sure the family have nothing to worry about on that front. I will thank God that Ethan wasn't hurt any worse than he was and I'll ask for blessing on the family. Love, Miss Mary
