Tuscaloosa Support Group

  Hi everyone, getting ready for the Realize Lap band procedure, have two appts next week in Mobile, one is the New Beginnings class, and then Thursday meet with the surgeon again.  I am hoping to schedule my surgery for the end of April or some time in May, depending on his schedule.  My question is, I live in Butler, Al, Meridian Ms is just 35 min up the road, but there is no longer a support group there.  I would like to attend a few meetings and understand there is a WLS support group that meets at DHC, or DCH hospital called Geneses, what day and time of the month does it meet.  Would appreciate the information.  Mobile is too far for me to travel, over 2hrs away, but Tuscaloosa is about 1hr 20 min.  I need support! the meetings at dch are on the third thursday of every month. it starts at 6pm. last an hour. well, tonight it ran about 20 min over. you can call beverly at dr biltons office if you need to 205-752-2501. this was my third meeting.

Thank you for the information, being I missed this last one, will try to attend the one next month.  I get off from work at 4:15, so I should be able to leave right after work...takes about 1hr 20 min to get to Tuscaloosa...I work in Meridian, Ms., but live in Butler, Al. 
How are the meetings, are they supportive, informative and interesting?  I need motivation badly!

this was my third meeting. i have enjoyed them. this week was a panel of people in group, two that have had lap and two gastric. the week before there was a plastic surgeon.  you can ask questions. beverly is really nice.
let me know if you can make it. i should be there unless i go out of town
