OT- The more I surf the more I like....

Alabama.......Today I found a place called "Lake Martin". It seems that the Air Force Base has a resort out there for the military and of course we ARE planning on going there this summer.....The more I learn about AL the more I'm liking the idea of moving there. Just pray things work out with my dog as she is to go live with my dad since she is on the "agressive breed" list and is not allowed on base.

Hi Cathi!  I haven't had a chance to welcome you so I just wanted to tell you I hope you do like Alabama.  I was raised in the military and lived all over the world and I really like it here (I live in the Huntsville area).  Yes, Lake Martin is a a beautiful area, so ya'll definitely need to go there.  I hope it works out  for your dog.  My family had several German Shepards through the years and they are great dogs, but we only had them when we lived off base.  It's hard to leave one behind like you're having to.  Take care!

Thank you for the welcome!! We really are excited about the move. I grew up in the AF too, then married it. It really is going to break my heart to leave Maggie behind, I've had her since she was 3mos old, and she's a mama's girl.

I grew up in Alabama.  It is real similar to Arkansas, but you will be closer to the gulf coast.   Good luck on your move.  When are you going?

Hi Lisa....We are going in late June. We are excited about the move. I think I'm more geeked than the rest of them. LOL
