Dreary Here

It is very dreary here in Tuscaloosa.  It looks like it could rain at any given moment, but has not done so.    I did get a little shopping in a few minutes ago.  I had to go to Radio Shack and get the telephone attachment so I could record the telephone interviews.  I also had to buy top quality tapes, which can be reused after they are transcribed.  The better quality the tapes the easier it is to transcribe them.  I have a good tape recorder in my desk at school...and even a really great microphone.  The more I work on this, the more excited I get.  Several people have volunteered to be interviewed, but I could still stand to have some more.  I won't be able to start setting appointments for interviews until after March 23, but would love to have you to interview, if you had WLS three or more years ago.  Just send me your telephone number and address in a pm.  I am really getting excited about this.

I am just 16 months out but would participate if I qualified.  Will you let us know what you find out in your research?  I am really interested.

how long will you be interviewing people? i won't be three years out until the end of november but i'd love to participate if you'll still be conducting interviews then.

The research is about the quality of life prior to Weight loss surgery and then what it is like three years or more after weight loss surgery.   I don't know how long I will be collecting interviews.    The initial article will most likely be researched in a few weeks, but if the findings are significant, I could maybe collect data for years and write a lot more articles. 

 

I don't even have any idea how many questions can be possible or explored.  I just know that this is a field that I want to pursue and that there is a dirth of information about. This is the first foray into exploring the questions and some indications of answers.

I I am really interested in the people who have felt that WLS failed for them.  I have found one person so far.  If you know of others, then that would be helpful. 

I most likely will be continuing working in this area for a while.  What that means is that there will be several studies, so if you don't quality for this one, there is always the next one.  Just let me know if you want to be put into the data bank to be contacted in the future, if you don't qualitfy for this one.
