an update on me

i went to the er yesterday afternoon at about 3pm because the pain i was experiencing was so intense and wasn't getting better (in fact, it was getting worse!) so, after being there for 9 hours (yes, NINE HOURS!!!) and having a ct scan with contrast dye it was determined that i have an obstruction and as a result of that, i have a LARGE amount of feces in my colon. so, magnesium citrate here i come! ()

oh and then i woke up this morning with increased chest and sinus congestion and coughing coupled with sensitive skin and way more dry heaving. looks like i've got the flu as well my mom and my brother are both having the same symptoms. hopefully i'll start to feel better in a few days...

i go see my surgeon tuesday morning and i'm making sure that he gets the er reports to go over before i get there. the er doc didn't have any explanation as to what caused this to happen so you'd better believe i'm going to be asking dr. facundus that very question! because, i consume lots of fiber and fluids AND i "go" every single day, at least ONCE every day. i haven't noticed any slow-down or other changes in my bowel habits so i really don't even understand how this happened in the first place, kwim? any ideas out there?

thank you carmen i know that you're right and that i just have to have faith but right now, with the agony i'm in, i feel like i'm being punished for something horrible

Oh precious...you are not being punished.  You have not done anything horrible.  You are hurting and in pain.  I love you and I am praying.

The obstruction can be from lotsa stuff. As far as going every day, it doesn't mean your colon empties 100 percent.
I hope you feel better soon...

A casual stroll through the lunatic asylum shows that faith does not prove anything.

ya they said that it was a "partial" obstruction and that's why i was still able to go every day. but i just find it sorta odd that i didn't even notice any changes in my bowel habits. i mean seriously, NADA. weird...

Your dry heaving and nausea could be due to the obstruction also.  I couldn't get anything down when i had mine.  My obstruction was caused by scar tissue, it just completely closed everything up and of course i ended up having to have another surgery to remove things and turned into a full revision because it was such a mess.

Just stay on top of it, demand answers from him.  This can be very dangerous and i know how painful it is.  Thinking of you..

girl idk what to do anymore! i've gone through two enema's and i'm on my third bottle of magnesium citrate (grape flavored this time!) and i swear, it feels like i'm giving birth every time i go and add to that the general yucky feeling that goes along with having the flu and i'm just one hot mess right now my fever's pretty much staying right around 102.2 (it's gotten as low as 101.2 but then shot right back up after an hour long nap yesterday) and i think i might've cracked a rib from coughing so much. this is one of those times i wish i had a remote to just fast forward over this part, lols!! *CLICK!* hah!
