Alright Alabama....I am home.

Let me tell you all of my experience.

I went to Crestwood hospital and signed in at 1130 this am.  I sat in the waiting room for two hours and then when I finally got into my room....40 mins later my nurse showed up told me "how do you know you have a stricture" I told her that I called my surgeons nurse this morning and explained my symptoms to her and she thought I sould come to the ER....she didnt do an exam on me not even take my bp.  She handed me a hospital gown and a sheet and told me to change...

I explained to her before she left the room, "my I have a larger gown, this one will not fit me?" her response was, this is the only size we have....(lie, i had my surgery there and was given a big ppl gown)  after she left the room, i decided to try on the gown...and as assumed, I needed the bigger gown.  

She came back after about 30 mins, and asked why I hadnt changed yet, I explained to her again that I was a large woman and I would need a bigger gown, she ROLLED HER EYES and walked out of the room.

To make a long story short, I got angry and had the charge nurse brought into my room so I could tellher of her nurses behavior.  

I went to have the xrays done, guess what...there is a silver lining in this cloud....I DONT HAVE A STRICTURE!!!  I guess when  I ate the pepperoni it must have been to greesy or spicy and caused my pouch to swell.  nothing was stuck in there though.  they perscribed me some carafate and im on my way.  YAY!!  I just got home, its 7:55.  i hate er's

OMG poor baby. I am with you and hate those places too.  Where we are I won't  go to Enterprise ER and will drive all the way to Dothan and go to Flowers' ER.  So glad you are doing ok, so glad you don't have a stricture.

See, Marla!! I didn't think it was a stricture. My experience with them you wouldn't have been able to keep the water down.. it would be blocked... or drained slowly. I had one partial blockage and my body sounded like a drain tub.. glug, glug, glug ROFL!!!

Now, Chad is going to be taking care of you and telling you no you can't have that

So glad it's not a stricture and so sorry about your experience with Crestwood's ER.  Not lecturing, just lovingly suggesting, at less than a month out, please be careful of what you're eating.  Hugs and hope you have a better day tomorrow!

My experience with cheese was awful let me tell you. When i got to where i could eat soft food i scrambled me a egg and melted some cheese in it well the cheese turned into a ball and would not go through, it took it 24 hours to go through and in the proses irritate my pouch the Dr. told me to go back to the liquid diet for 24 hours to give my pouch time to rest.I dump on greasy foods to this day i can't eat food that has a lot of grease on it  or i will dump.

So sorry you were not treated with respect at Crestwood. This is why I went ti Huntsville Hospital last time I needed an ER visit. I waited only 20 minutes, even though there was a crowd. My dh explained that I was a bariatric patient and had a possible bowel obstruction. They get me back and on meds right away. They called in another WLS surgeon, as our surgeon can't practice at HH.
I would definitely send a written complaint to Crestwood. That nurse was way outta line. What an A$$hat!!

I completely agree!!  she was so rude, i already filed a complaint while i was in the waiting room, i decided that i would call my mom and tell her what was going on...my mom wasnt too keen on me having the surgery but now that its over and done, shes back to being mother hen!  

 

she called admin and reported the nurse.  about 20 mins later my room was moved and i was away from nurse crazy.

Glad you are better and it was not serious.

I would have reported her too. That was rude of her!!!
