I chewed like 50 times per bite i guess ham is softer than pepperoni no i didnt try to eat bread...i tried to eat tiny...and i mean ity bity pieces of pepperoni with cheese and sauce melted and squished together.

lesson learned...I was texting julie all night about what do to, and after following her instructions....I still have this ball of food that wont go down, I am in a great deal of pain and so I called my surgeon's nurse.  I am offically an idiot!  I am now headed to the crestwood er and i swear, if i have to have another surgery I am going to be so much more angry with myself. Sorry I missed you while you were in Gulf Shores.  I would have loved to meet you and your BF.

Don't beat yourself up too bad.  We all slip and/or do things on occasion that we KNOW we shouldn't.  Just mark it up as a lesson learned and don't do it again.

Marla, I am so sorry that you are in pain.  They will fix you up I am sure.  We all do things we shouldn't, but what we should do is learn from our mistakes.  Don't be so hard on yourself.  This is a learning experience, also.  I am still learning.

Don't beat yourself up - I'm not sure that a stricture can be caused by you not eating your pureed foods.  My doc doesn't even require pureed foods (liquids first week, then gradually you add back to your diet).  Anyway, I don't think what you ate caused it - they just happen.  My hubby had one, and once he got it stretched a bit, things were great.
Take care.

Marla,
You are NOT an idiot...
Please quit beating yourself up over this for strictures happen for no reason at all...they just happen!
You are in my thoughts...and in my prayers!  So sorry you are having to go through this.

I love you, Marla!
I told you, if you were not better to call the nurse.
Sometimes we make mistakes. We are human. And not all of us follow advice or doctor's orders.
Been there done that.
I've had 16 strictures so I was hoping yours was not but as I told you- easy fix!!
Feel better soon. I'll keep texting you and I'm here hon as I said Always! ;-)

You CANNOT cause a stricture.  They develop in some people for no reason.  Believe me, I know.  I had one that had to be stretched multiple times.  My surgeon called me the stricture queen.  You are just unlucky.  But don't worry.  As complications go, this is not that bad. They will do an endoscope and stretch the scar tissue (which is actually what a stricture is).  And you will feel MUCH better.  Hugs to you and prayers that this is all behind you quickly.
