Jerry and I decided we needed some quiet time away and so were looking at renting a cabin on Cheaha Mt next weekend. I am going to call and see if there is till one available in just a few minutes, and was just wondering does anyone have any suggestions of things to see in that area while were there? Anywhere we should eat? Anything special that we should see?

Hey Christi. I live not far from Cheaha. Can see it from my dinning room window. Why not join us at Top of the River next weekend. Gadsden is only like 30 minutes from Anniston. There is a lot of places to eat in Oxford. Also there is a restaurant up on top of the mountain. I will PM you my # so that maybe we can meet before you head home if you can't join us at Top of the River.

Christi I will be out of town that weekend. We are leaving on that Thursday and will not be back till first of the week. I was looking forward to seeing you. Maybe some of the others from this area will be able to meet up with you and Jerry.  But I will get to see you at the reunion.

I wish I could help you, but although I don't live far, I have never been there.  That's awful.  I have always wanted to go up there, but just never gotten around to going.  I am sure you and your DH will have a great time.  I hear it is beautiful there.  I hate that you will miss us this weekend.  Maybe next time you and Jerry will be able to come.

The restaurant there in the park is actually very good.  I've heard they have a great breakfast buffet, but I've only had dinner there.  The walk to Bald Rock is always nice, it's actually handicapped accessible, which means its an easy walk!
Top of the River has a location in Anniston, about a 30min drive from the park.  In Oxford, you'll find an Olive Garden, Long Horn Steakhouse, Fuji Japanese Steakhouse, Cracker Barrell - well, you won't be hungry.  The Quintard Mall isn't bad for shopping and has a movie theater.  There's also the Oxford Exchange w/Target, TJ Maxx, Ross, Dress Barn, Kohls, Hobby Lobby, and lots more.
If you like museums, check out the Anniston Museum of Natural History and the Berman Museum -  http://www.annistonmuseum.org/
I'm about out of ideas - if I think of anything more, I'll send you a PM.
