XPOST: Dumping Sucks!!

Ok so, I am officially allowed pureed foods, and I do really well with most foods, problem is I cant get enough protein with just food.  (duh) so shakes it is.....

 

I have tried several different types of shakes...apparently....they dont like me.  Anytime I drink a protein shake I DUMP BAD! omg!  it pretty much omits all the fluids i would have gotten in prior to that, and honestly my pouch is so small i dont know where everything is coming from!  

 

Any ideas people?  I could really appreciate any way that I can get in the protein without shakes...or maybe with a different brand.  (hopefully one that doesnt taste like ass) lol.

 

The kind I have now I really like (except for dumping from it) its 20g  protein  3g sugar.

I mix it with 6oz of skim milk.

Hey I'm so glad to see you are doing better other then the dumping
I have never been able to tolerate any type of milk since my wls
what type of protein did you find that taste good ?
I'm still searching for something that taste good .
also let me know when you decide to start going to the wellness center

I never could do the protein drinks.  However, there are protein bars and the ones with the most protein come from Sam's...32 grams per bar.  However, you might also try yoguart...I could do that and any cheese, cottage, cheddar, etc.  The protein bars save me the first few months.  I have lactose intolerance and WLS did not change that.

Have you tried any of the protein drinks that are just mixed with water?  Instead of tasing like a shake they are usually more fruity.  I could never tolerate any of the protein drinks.  A lot of people also seem to like the non-flavored protein that you just put a few spoonfuls into Crystal Light or something.  Might want to try those.

Have you tried unjury? Go to unjury.com get the unflavord that is what i use. the sugar in the milk and protein will make you dump.I also use necter  protein to it is just like drinking  fruit juice, it dosent have sugar or artifal sweetner.

I never did good with the protein drinks either so it was cottage cheese for me, or scrambled egg with cheese and when pinto beans were allowed those too.
I can only drink a protein drink made with yogurt and unflavored protein powder that I get from GNC.
I think Pam used to do carnation breakfast (SF) with protein powder if I am correct.

I have not had surgery yet, but i've been eating protein bars and shakes that you mix with water. i cant drink milk. i get mine from directdiet.com

A lot of people kind of touched on the subject... but maybe you're having issues with the milk and NOT the protein drink? Just an idea since you said you've tried a bunch... maybe try mixing them w/water.

I use flavorless protein and add a bunch to fat-free pudding mix... It's yummy. I do the drinks too but not too much, I just can't stand the texture in my mouth *ick*. I'm on pureed as well btw.
