I'm curious......my co-workers Mom had lapband 3 weeks ago.  My boss had RNY a year ago  with the same surgeon and they both say that CHOCOLATE milk is on their list of things they can have on their post op plan.  I have never heard of such.  Just wondering if this is the norm?  \

Oh my God!  Say it ain't so!   LOL  I checked my list and chocolate milk or chocolate anything isn't ANYWHERE on my paperwork.  Well, maybe a chocolate protein shake but now thats not like a cold glass of chocolate milk now is it?   I'm curious to know if anyone else has that on their list?  One would think there would be alot of sugar grams in a glass of chocolate milk.  Interesting question and inquiring minds want to know!

That;s exactly my point.  They both said 2% CHOCOLATE milk. Makes me wonder.......DUH! I'd be sicker than a dog.  I can't even drink regular milk without dumping.  I did do carnation instant breakfast at first until it started making me sick. Then the protein shakes made with milk started doing the same thing....

I was told that sugar free carnations instant breakfast was fine. I guess some could include chocolate milk as well since lapband patients don't dump on sugar. I stayed away from stuff like that.. it was too sweet and tasted horrible!

I did ask about the carnation instant breakfast but they said NO, 2% chocolate milk.  I'd love to hear what that doctor himself has to say.  I think that's crazy.  That's not changing in eating habits if they are allowed sugar.....even lapband.  I thought we were ALL supposed to stay away from sugar.  This poor woman is only 3 week post op and drinking chocolate milk.  Ugh..  She's 68 years old.  I would think the SF slimfast or protein shakes is what she's supposed to be drinking at the point

If the RNY dumps.. boy are they going to be SICK!!
and the one with lapband if they are a chocolate addict they are going to not move or move back up if they get all the weight off.
WOW! Chocolate!!
I almost hate chocolate now. I love vanilla though! I drink the sf vanilla instant breakfast all the time. I can't even drink chocolate flavored coffee and I love me some coffee.
Hmmm...
They might learn a lesson they don't want to know!
