primary care doctor in Huntsville Al

I am new to the Huntsville Al area. I am 21 months post op RNY. I need a doctor. I called a surgeon this am and they won't see other doctors patients (Even though my doctor was in Fl). I guess I need to find a primary care doctor. Does anyone have any recommendations for a doctor in this area that is educated and interested in RNY patients. I would like to have someone that will do all the necessary lab work etc. that needs to be done. Thanks for any and all suggestions.

HI, I use Dr Amy Carter at Cove Family Clinic it is just over the mountain going towards HamptonCove- #533-3003. If it just has to be in Huntsville- I have heard alot of great things about Dr. Tobin Fisher 535-5944 although I work in the medical field and find their answering service-you know press 1 leave a message to be quite aggravating. GOOD LUCK> OH and for a Bariatric Surgeon My Dr is Dr R.Mailapur 265-1890. He might take you on.

Thank you!  I also appreciate you letting me know about Dr. Mailapur. I had contacted another surgeon's office and they wouldn't see me. I will try Dr. Mailapur tomorrow. Does he have a support group for post ops? I need to get involved with that also.

Welcome to Alabama! We use Dr. Sharon Thomas-McKelvy.. we love her! She's now with another practice in south Huntsville - South Care Clinic. I don't have her new number but I'll try to post it later.

I think Dr. Maliapur has taken on a few patients whose original surgery was done by another Dr.

My family and I moved here about 8 years ago from GA. I love it here and can't imagine moving somewhere else. I hope you can find a good doctor!

I second the choices for Dr. Jenny Chapman AND Dr. Mailapur.  Both are amazing!  Dr. Mailapur was not my original surgeon but agreed to take me on during massive complications.  I love them both and owe them my life!
