Dr. Facundus

Who has used Dr. Facundus as their surgeon, How is he I get to meet him in a couple of weeks when I go to third appointment.

He is very arragont. He has a God complex. But he is an excellent doctor. Love, Miss Mary

Dr. Facundus was my original surgeon and i agree wtih Mary on part of that.  He definately is arrogant.  LOL

 A couple of years before I had my WLS, I started to use this group of surgeons. Seems to me that they are very $$$$ motivated. I spent a few hundred $$ out of pocket for a stupid breathing test and a meeting with a dietician. Thank God  they were not a Tricare provider at that time and i was given the wonderful care and concern of Dr. Murrell.

I was less than happy with the attitude of the office personnel, and I never even got to meet either of the doctors!! However, I do not know how he is as a surgeon other than what others say. Just my thoughts...since you asked!! Research thoroughly  and good luck!!

Ya know, Dr Facundus doesnt really come off as having a god complex to me, I see him more as confident.  Honestly, I want someone who knows what they are doing.  He is more expensive, but at the same time, I am more than willing to pay more money for better care.  my health is important to me, so the cost doesnt matter.  money will come and go...i only get one chance at this life.

 

He is ****y....but he should be, hes a great surgeon.  You just have to stand up for yourself, and let him know you know what you want and he is working for you....you are signing his paycheck.  not the other way around.

Dr. Facundus did my RNY in June 2005, and my GB and internal hernia repair January 2006.  I have seen him every year and have had good experiences.  He has always been very complimentary of me and the job I have done with my weight loss.  I don't think he is very kind to those who don't work the tool that they have been given.  He has been doing this a long time and I think he has very definite ideas about how things should be done to get the best results and doesn't have much patience with those who stray from his plan.  He and I had one serious disagreement over his office practices and he responed to me with respect and explained his actions and I explained where I was coming from.  It turned out just fine.  I have always treated him like an equal and he has always treated me with respect,  He is a very skilled surgeon and believes in aftercare.  Sorry folks, but hiring a dietitian and all that staff isn't cheap, he has to pay the bills too, so we have to pay for those services.  No one surgeon is right for everyone, thank goodness we still have medical choices!
