Meet Rocky

Rocky decided a few days ago to take up residence at our house.  We are not sure where he sleeps but he adores the pecan tree next to the drive.  He is still young and is not the least bit afraid of us.

How absolutely adorable.  I'll take him.  My Daddy had a pet raccoon as a young child.  He says that coon ate from their table.  ha ha ha!

He is adorable.  However, you know not to grab him, right?  Those little teeth and claws will send you to the hospital.  Even a tame raccoon reacts badly to being grabbed suddenly or held on to.  They can be trained to come to you and take food from you, etc.  However, be careful because they do carry rabies.

We raised a large male when I was little.  I use to feed him sugar cubes.  He would wash them and then would disappear.  Then he would look for them.  I would give him so many that the water would be syurpy, but he never could find the sugar cube....heeheeheehee.
