How Many Real Friends Do You Have?

Just curious. We all have our internet family here. But how many of them could you or would you call if you needed help? I have been thinking about this lately. I have lots of aquaintenences. I know lots of people. But as far as real friends..I have very few.
How can I remedy this? I would love to have folks to hang out with, catch a movie with, or just have coffee one day. Someone I can reveal my heart to without fear of rejection.
Kim ( knj) is my real friend, and Pam. But because our lives are so busy we rarely have time together.
Anyhow, just one of my many daily ponderings.

Renee...you've just said it.  A true friend is one you can trust totally.  They may hurt you, but not purposely and they will tell you the truth no matter how it hurts.  My very best friend will tell me when what I am wearing looks bad on me, she will tell me if my makeup is not good that day or if I need a haircut or touch up on the color.  She is very honest with me and always has been.  That is why she is one of my best friends.  I have several true friends that I have met on this board and I trust them.  I have learned, though, through the years, that I could not trust everyone who told me I could.  My daddy once told me that if you have one true friend, you are blessed.  I feel very very blessed.  Love you!!!

Carmen,
I love you too!! I have no doubt that if we lived nearer we would be close friends.

People come and go in our lives, but true friends are forever no matter how far apart you live.
I have a few close friends..  but Phyllis Rathke is my bestest friend, I thank GOD for this board and the cruise we went on 2 yrs ago- for this is where i met her.  I could not ask for a better friend than her, we may not see each other much, but when we do.. the town can't hold us, LOL.

Oh I am so glad you think of me as a real friend. You know I am just a call away and I am always available for coffee or what ever.

We need to get together!! I have a crazy work schedule right now..lots of double shifts.
I miss you Teresa!! And Kim and Pam and Linda. I think sometimes we let life get in the way and don't take care of ourselves like we should. Sometimes that means a day with the girls..drinking coffee and what not!!

I have so many friends and my husband says my phone rings way too much! lol
He doesn't have many friends besides work because he works all the time.
Our Pastor once told us, having a friend is like cultivating a garden. You have to work at being a friend to have a friend. Otherwise, that friendship can wither and die or you won't have a thriving friendship.
We discussed this in one of our classes at church and sometimes we get so busy with our everyday lives and don't cultivate.
