Thieves At Work: Part Deaux...

I posted last week about a girl I work with that is stealing from our tip jar.
The management is aware but want to give her a chance. Well, here is part 2.

Friday night she was off work. She and her man came in after closing ( door was'nt locked) . She proceeded into the kitchen and started filling up containers of food. When the mod came out he was furious with her. She made a lame excuse that her man had brought her soup from the restaraunt and she wanted more "juic" fo it. This was 2 hours after he left for the night. The mod ran her out. Now this guy has no power to fire her her ( he is a shift manager). The girl was stoned, smelled like pot and booze. AAGGHH!! I told I was actively seeking another position because I think it is unfair that her crime is going unpunished.
OK, here is the kicker...I have a private email addy for the biggest investor in the concept. I so want to email him and make him aware of the situation. The biggest problem..I don't want to reveal my name for fear of retaliation from te managers.
What to do, guys? I am just sick over it. I believe in second chances and heling others, but this girl has had way too many chances. Should I create an anonymous account and email him? Or should I just do it and reveal myself?

A casual stroll through the lunatic asylum shows that faith does not prove anything.

I would do it myself. Posting as anonymous would just put doubt on the situation . Thats just me !!

I agree with Vickie. I would email him/her revealing my name and the fact that it is causing morale issues and creating a lack of respect for the management that has chosen to over look it. I might also mention that you are writing at the risk of retaliation from management, which should also get their attention. As an employee you have the right to work in an atmosphere that is not hostile and one without the fear of retaliationt. Hopefully the investor will see it as the serious situation it is and take care of things. Good Luck! I hope things get better for you quickly!

Renee...I would turn her in.  The management should be thankful to you for saving them money that she is stealing in merchandise and probably other ways.

The nerve of people. I am sorry but I just cant condone stealing. I cant imagine why coming in to work hours after your shift to get food free would be a practice any business owner would want to put up with. How would they feel if after your shift you came in and sat your boys down to a table while you went in the back and fixed them a plate. Same difference in my opinion.
I would go ahead and do as others have said. reveal yourself....what have you got to lose, you cant work in the environment as it is anyway.
Just my two cents

I would turn her in.  Phyllis said it all.  Let them know you are afraid of retaliation.  I would write the email very professionally, not calling anyone any names or giving your personal opinion.  I would just say that I truly appreciate working for you and your company and as such, I feel that I owe it to you to let you know what is going on in your company.  I understand that I will recieve retaliation from management by revealing this information and it would sadden me to lose my job.  I have tried to speak with management about it, but have been ignored.   I care about this company, as I know you do, so I hope you will take this to heart and check out the information.  Sincerely, Renee.

Having the courage to stand up for what you believe in and do it without hiding is a wonderful thing.  You can do it!

Love you Renee!
