"THOUGHT"
"Preach the Gospel. If neccessary, use words." These words vividly express a central truth of the gospel. Sharing the Good News is a matter of action, not just words. It's a matter of ministering to the whole person: physically, emotionally,mentally, socially, and spiritually.
We do not help the poor and persecuted in order to be saved. We help them because we are saved, and being saved involves becoming like Jesus in our attitudes and actions toward others. We take an interest in the kinds of people in whom He took an interest. We serve them in ways reminiscent of His service to them. We minister to them, not to score points with God, but because our hearts have been changed and our lives have been redirected by His forgiving and cleansing grace. What we do for others and why we do it, evidences our relationship to Him.
