Thanksgiving dinner went FABULOUS~

We had 16 total and it was a blast.  Beau's grandparents cancelled out due to sickness.  Our Pastor's wife left to go out of town to help her sister get ready for their holidays and the Pastor's Dad got a date after church and we STILL had 16 for lunch.  I had cooked enough food for an army, then Beau's Mom brought in a cake, a salad, a casserole, tea and more rolls, and my mother in law brought some potato salad.  We had some kind of FEAST.  Beau's family is coming over for leftovers after church tonight cause his Daddy had to work today and didn't get to make it to lunch.

We borrowed a long table and chairs from the church and everyone fit nicely in our living/dining room comfortably.  I had table cloths and candles lit and the fire in the fireplace.  It was just lovely and I do believe everyone had a good time.

I couldn't have asked for a better Thanksgiving.  We DO have so much to be thankful for and it was so nice to have all our families blended together.

Thanks for letting me brag.....

Love to all,

Elle

Sounds wonderful, Elle!  I am so glad yoiu had a good time today!

Had two sonderful sermons about Thanksgiving today in the two churches I serve.  I needed to hear those words.  Especially meaningful was a story about Corrie and Betsy Ten Boom.  In her book The Hiding PLace there is a wonderful story about being thankful - even for fleas.  If you've read the book, you know the story.  I am trying to be thankful for the fleas on the Alabama Board!!!

Enjoy the rest of your day!

I watched that movie and read the book.  It was so sad.  Corrie Ten Boom was an amazing person.

It's been years since I have seen the movie and even longer that I ready the book.  Just may have to do both again soon.

I read the book at least once a year. I don't want to forget what happens when we ignore or think it can't happen to us. Her life was a tragedy in some ways and a wonderful testimony to God in other ways. Love, Miss Mary
