I'd like to get to know you better also.  However, I don't normally hang out here, as I actually live in Texas.  I followed a link over here from somewhere else.  You're more than welcome to PM me anytime.

I'm very tolerant of other people and their beliefs.  I see no reason to put someone down for what they feel and believe in.

Let's see your pic.  It's always easy to make nasty posts to and about someone when you're hiding behind no pic and no profile.

I don't overdo it in the Christian department myself.  As a matter of fact, at this time in my life I'm not sure where my beliefs lie, but the OP has every right to say what she wants and how she feels on a public chatboard without being put down in such a derogatory manner as you've managed to do.
i'll post a pic of myself.  can i borrow your shoes?

Since you claimed my shoes are 'stinky-assed' in the other thread that you bashed the OP of this post in, I think I'll pass.

My stinky-assed shoes are from the previous username I had here, which was bobbisox.  You know, bobby socks and saddle shoes?  I've been here since 2004, and many people know me, have seen my pic, and know exactly what I look like.  As a matter of fact, I used to do volunteer work with the OH staff, so I'm pretty well known by quite a few.

You don't intimidate me at all.  You have proven yourself to be a very pathetic individual.  You remind me of the big fat bullies in school... always having to pick on the little kids because you're too pathetic to hold your own with the 'real' people.

YES, that *IS* what it's like! Thank you for SEEING that. And it's EMBARRASSING to us REAL Alabamians that our fourm has been taken over by these looney-assed, voice-hearing LITTLE kids. Yanno, what I'm saying? It's too sickening for me to even come here. Thank FSM for R&R!!

LeAnn, you know I like you.  I value your opinion just as much as anyone elses.  There are many people on all boards who say what they feel.  If I go around c&p'ing every post that twists my knickers, trying to make fun of it, it doesn't give me much time to have a real life.  When I don't agree with something, I normally move on.  However, in this case, I just think personal attacks on someone's looks, etc., over what they feel is right for them is a bit much.  There's no reason for it.  If people don't like what's beings said, they can move on, or, if they feel the need to reply with a differing opinion... great!  But why do it in a manner as to cut the person down as to what they look like, etc?  Or by dragging it to another board and calling them a fucktard?  Or talking about how stupid they are?  Seriously, what's the point?

I've seen it done to you, and you don't deserve it, nor like it either.  I think it's rotten for anyone to do.  You weren't and aren't my target in this.  It's the person that felt they needed to drag it all over the boards and post belittling comments about someone.  And hell, corney seems equipped enough to handle him or herself.  It's obvious what type of person corney is.  I never see anything nice or compassionate there.  From you, I do.  Yes, you voice your opinion, you're very emphatic about it, but you're also very kind and supportive when the need arises.  You don't make it your life's work to belittle others.

You know, La Cadena, I like you andI honestly believe that LeaAnn doesn't mean to belittle others, but rather to enlighten folks as to her perspective and point out logical flaws in others' beliefs as a means of doing so.

I do realize (as does LeaAnn) that this is a touchy subject, and that any words contrary to one's belief system can seem harsh.  However, if a missionary tells a man that Christianity makes more sense, then HE is lauded.  If an atheist points out that his perspective makes more sense, HE is villified.

Why IS that?

“Slandering atheists has not yet been labelled politically incorrect, and many people, including priests and rabbis, have taken full advantage of this impunity.”

Howdy FF!

I'm not sure you fully understood what I was saying.  I like LeaAnn and didn't make any accusations towards her about this in this thread.  I was saying what I felt to the corn guy.  Typically, I see LeaAnn saying how she feels, and asking questions.  Occasionally, she's emphatic and right to the point.  However, I don't often see her just jumping all over someone right off the bat.  She didn't do it here also.  Her reply to me (and on the R&R board) was made to me based on what I said to corn.  I was just pointing out to her what I didn't like about corn's post.  I wasn't saying she was belittling... but that he was.

As I've said, many times before, I think everyone has the right to state how they feel and what they believe.  I don't argue pro or anti-christianity.  What I argue is people's right to feel and say what they feel without being belittled on a personal level, such as what was done to the op here.  It hurts no one for her to feel the way she does, and it's a great topic for reasonable discussion for those that genuinely would like to discuss it.  But coming in here and calling out someone on their intelligence and looks does what?  It only brings up the defenses and hurt, and makes the situation worse.

I guess my point is, I don't like to see anyone needlessly hurt.  Not the OP, not LeaAnn, and *cough* not even corn.

I know LeaAnn has had many people respond to her in the way that the op was responded to by corny.  Regardless of what she says or feels about her own personal beliefs and opions, she doesn't deserve that.  She's very strong and will tell it like it is, but I find it hard to believe that when someone attacks her on a personal level, it doesn't hurt her in some manner.

As I said in my post above, I liked what LeaAnn had to say on this, and find it a much better way to open up a discussion on the topic.  I'm really interested for people to post their thoughts on what she said.  Perhaps if she could start a new topic with her post, it may be better.  More people will see it and be able to respond.

Nope.  I don't see you as a minion of Satan.  You can definitely hold your own, and I don't always agree on what you say, but just because your beliefs differ from mine, doesn't make you a bad person.  And heck, I really don't know where my beliefs lie.  That's why I'm just as interested in one point of view as another.
