Good Morning!

Good morning to all you Bama Board members.  I want to come to the board this morning and apologize if my post and responses to other peoples' posts offended any of you yesterday.  As I stated in my first post, I was NOT accusing anyone on this board of scamming people.  My post was merely intended to remind people that there are people out there who are less than perfect, who will take advantage of you.  I NEVER used anyone's name in my post.  It wasn't JUST the post about wanting people to put $10.00 in an envelope and mail to a certain member, that bothered me.  There was another post that actually caught my attention first.  However, the post about wanting ten people to put $10.00 an envelope so someone could go to a Dr. sounds a little chain letterish to me, if you can understand that.  I do attend church three services a week.  I give first to God, and then as my heart leads me.  I am also a member of a couple of motorcycle groups, and anyone affiliated with those groups know that they are some of the most generous people you could ever want to meet.  We do a lot for children's benefits and also do for needy families throughout the holidays.  I am NOT a selfish, bad, lonely, or cruel person.  I have learned though, that there are better ways of giving than just sticking $10.00 in an envelope.  If you are unsure about the legitimacy of someones needs, there are other ways to go about helping.  I was also trying to remind people that they need to use some common sense and discernment when getting involved with the various charities and needs of people that seem to run rampant during this time of year, and that there are people out there whose intentions are to con and deceive people.  I was also trying to make a point that the purpose of this board is NOT to gather financial resources for the needy.  It is for weight loss support.  I can understand that people on here have gained personal friends through this board and may want to help them in other ways.  I just believe that the solicitation should be done through PM's or email and not publicy over the board. 

NOW...with that said, I have been a member of this board for over three years, although I did leave for a short period of time.  I am aware of the many things that have been posted about the medical and financial needs of that individual as well as others on the board.  I have never met her personally; therefore, cannot say that I do or do not understand all she is going through.  I do not contribute money directly to individuals I have never met before.  I will however, help in other ways.  If she is truly in need of medical care and needs $100.00 to get to the hospital to get treatment, do you think she has the time to wait for ten people to stuff $10.00 in an envelope and snail mail to deliver it?  If she needs medical attention, she needs it now.  With that said, I will offer to pay her $100.00 co-pay for her.  All she needs to do is go to the hospital, someone send me an pm with the name, location, and phone number of the hospital billing office and I will call the hospital, verify the need, and pay the $100.00 myself.

YOU are so right.. if you are in need of medical attention you cannot wait.
I know when I get dehydrated I cannot get back on track without help; and If I continue to be sick I'm dragging my body down even more by not eating or drinking! I sometimes try so hard to fight and wait to the last minute to be hospitalized.
I just want to Thank You for your generosity and know that I didn't take your posts the wrong way. I wish to protect everyone here; help everyone here. I know I cannot do that but I have good thoughts and intentions for every single person no matter how they act or what they post.
Lord, he knows I've done so bad things and made mistakes and well, you have to forgive to be forgiven!
And sometimes you have to pray your making the right decision to take that step and other times you might get hurt. I just step out knowing God is in control.

I am sorry for yesterday.I can understand your warning about scamers because it is happening more and more now days. And yes  it has happened to me before the lady was arrested a her child that she used to scam everyone was removed from her custody.And i am really not mad with you for your post you had all the rights to post it .Lets Just makeup and be friends.I was just going to post and apologize to you .  i did not mean for my post to sound like you where accusing us of scamming people but it did and iam sorry for that.you are right when someone need to be in the hospital they need it right now. Thank you for your offer.I know about those motorcycle group my Brother is part of one.

OneSon, I understood exactly what you were saying! We have to be careful to make sure our resources go to the right people.

I understood your post exactly and have to say that I agree with you totally. I never once thought it was an attack on any one person but a very good reminder. It takes a big person to apologize when no harm was intended.

Glad to see you posting. We need to meet in person sometime.
