I'm sure I'm not the only one that needs help with Christmas gift ideas.  What are some good inexpensive ideas for co-workers, friends, family ect....

What is the most UNUSUAL gift you've ever received?

The BEST gift you've ever received?

The most PRACTICAL gift you've received?

Most ECONOMICAL?  USEFUL?  THOUGHTFUL?

Come on and give us ALL some neat ideas!

Edited: to add "family"

last year my lover gave me a toy to play with but i broke it. then she dumped me because i was starting to look so good and feel good. the best gift i ever got was getting her out of my life. the most practical gift i ever got was pack of batteries from sam's wholesale. the most economical gift i ever got was a pair of used panties from a garage sale. the most useful was the batteries. the most thoughtful was some preparation h, which i could prolly could use right now.

as far as friends go, i would give rocks. they are inexpensive and could be used for so many things. i really don't think you could go wrong in giving a rock. also dirt is a good gift. we can never use to much dirt in our lives.

I was thinking of doing a goody basket for my Daddy.  He is diabetic and doesn't eat very healthy.  Just grabs something and eats it.  For his b'day I fixed up a basket of good healthy snacks and foods that he would eat.  He doesn't do much cooking anymore, but when he does....IT AIN'T healthy.  I got him individual breakfast bars, fruit cups, applesauce, sf jello, sf puddings, crackers and cheese, peanut butter and crackers and still throw in a few other things too, like those shake and pour pancake mixes, sf syrup, small packages of brownie mix (he loves my girls to cook brownies and cookies for him), canned chicken, tuna ect....

He says he wants some new undies and socks too.  ha ha

The man has everything you can think of.....and then some......I'm at a loss for my Daddy

Loretta...my mother has everything also.  I am scrapbooking her an album this year with pictures of the kids and grandkids.  Would your daddy like that??  For the girls in my office, I will probably give them some goodies in a tin and a candle or something.  I got one of  my bosses a dress shirt on sale at Dillard's that was reg. $60.00 and I paid $6.95 for it..(I know I'm cheap).  I am getting the other boss a gift card.  He loves Starbucks and Olive Garden, so it will be one of those.

That sounds like a winner for your Daddy...the gift basket of ready made/ready to eat goodies.  It IS difficult to buy for someone who has everything.

My mom is knitting each of her grandkids a scarf...just a thought-if you know how to crochet (sp?).  You can make some really beautiful scarfs with the yarn thats available now.

I got my Aunt/Cousins each a I.D. change purse that holds your driver's license and change from Vera Bradley.  We usually spend $5-$10 on each other because there are so many of us...and I got these little purses for $5 each.

For a few people in my life...who are typers and stay at the computer, I am getting them a PAGE UP Document holder.  You can go key in Page Up document holder and Cool Safety Products.com makes them.  I have found them at the UPS stores here in my area...that's where I first seen them.  These are practical gifts...and a bit unusual too.  You can get them with FISH, SPORTS THEMES, etc.

Hope this helps you.
Love ya,  Jackie

Now that all our parents are gone we have learned the value of family even more.  I have taken family photos (both sides) and made slideshow/presentations  with music.  Each starts with our parents and grandparents  as younger people and comes forward to the present.  I saved each to CD's and DVD's and will give them to our brothers, nieces, nephews and kids.

Maybe I had more fun tripping down memory lane than anybody but in years to come the younger kids will appreciate these treasures.

I got VERY LUCKY a few weeks ago. I went to a church to speak and they were gettign ready for a fall festival. One of the ladies that is a member there has a son who works in the office of a facotry that makes memory foam slippers. To make a long story short, he talked his company into donating this church 30 cases of memory foam house shoes. They were selling htem for $3.00 a pair!!!!! I stocked up!..lol. I am giving the slippers, foot scrub along with foot lotion to several this year. I thought it would make a nice little foot spa basket.

That's an awesome idea.  Who doesn't like slippers, huh?  I know I could use a pair for sure on these hard wood floors and both my girls have asked for a pair as well.  I forgot all about it.  Thanks for the reminder.
