OT: Husband's Office Christmas Party

My husband's office throws a fancy Christmas party every year and this year I have NOTHING to wear.  The party is on Dec 6th so I don't have much time to shop.  I didn't even go last year because I was so large that none of my dressy outfits fit.  But this year, now that I am a size 12, I wanna go and show off the new me!  I have been looking on eBay for a cute little black dress, but hesitate to buy online cuz you just don't know how it's cut or how it will fit.  I've been shopping in the size 14 section just in case.  Another consideration is that we never know what the weather will be like on any particular day in December.  We could be in shorts or coats, ya just never know.  Anyone have a crystal ball where they can tell me what the weather is gonna be like that night?  I am excited to go show off the new me and want to get just the right dress.

Im like you but i needed my dress for my 20th High School Reunion.  I found just the right dress and it didnt cost me much.  I found it at the Thrift Store in Alabaster.  Little Black dress.  You might loose more weight and inches and i would not spend alot of money on a dress that might not fit next month.

A coworker who also had WLS (7 years ago) is bringing in several Holiday dresses for me to try on this week in sizes 12/14.  Hopefully one will fit and I can just pay her a small amount rather than buying a new dress at full retail.  It's amazing how people are stepping up with offers.  I am soooo blessed to be surrounded by such good friends and coworkers.

I found the perfect dress today at an upscale cosignment shop that a coworker told me about.  It's a Liz Claiborne and I only paid $14.99 for it and another $2.75 for some dressy black Liz shoes.  Both look brand new, not even broken in.  The dress is a long sleeved black velvet dress with a sort of scalloped scoup neck.  It is perfect and is very flattering.  Now I just need to figure out which earrings/necklace to wear.  I am thinking since the front is so styled, I may just wear some nice earrings with it and no necklace at all.  (especially since I now have shoulder blades to show off!).  I am soo excited to have found such a perfect deal.
