Welcome to the Christmas edition of getting to know your friends. Okay, here's what you're supposed to do and try not to be a SCROOGE!!! Just copy (not forward) this entire email and paste into a new e-mail that you can send. Change all the answers so that they apply to you. 1. Wrapping paper or gift bags? I spend more time wrapping gifts than I do buying them. I love love love love wrapping presents. Of course I always keep a few bags on hand in case I run out of time or can't find a box to fit the present
 

2. Real tree or artificial? Definitely Artificial. My one real tree a couple of years ago was enough for me. Thank goodness I didn't have carpeted flooring or it wouldn't have stayed up as long as it did

3. When do you put up the tree? I try for the day after Thanksgiving, but that isn’t always possible.

4. When do you take the tree down? Usually a few days after Christmas but I've been known to leave it up till March.  It's not as fun to take it down as it is to put it up...

5. Do you like eggnog? No.

6. Favorite gift received as a child? My stuffed bloodhound Trusty. I got him when I was 5 or 6, so I'm guessing he's over 30 years old now and I still have him. And I got my first real bloodhound this year. Her name is Molly. She doesnt listen as well as Trusty did

7. Do you have a nativity scene? Yes.  

8. Hardest person to buy for?  My parents

9. Easiest person to buy for? My Dixie. I just take notes all year and then get her that something special

10. Worst Christmas gift you ever received? I'm not sure.  I always appreciate a gift no matter what it is cause it is the thought that counts!!!
 

11. Mail or email Christmas cards? Mail.

12. Favorite Christmas Movie? I have two...and I'm having a senior moment, can't remember their names. Hmm, lets see...1 is Miracle on 34th St and the other is the one where Clarence gets his wings

13. When do you start shopping for Christmas? I try for early, but I'm one of those that will be in the stores on Christmas Eve

14. Have you ever recycled a Christmas present? No

15. Favorite thing to eat at Christmastime??? Homemade Christmas cookies and my Nanny's cranberry dessert, though my dad makes it now.

16. Clear lights or colored on the tree? Multicolored most definitely and they can't blink...can't stand blinking tree lights

17. Favorite Christmas song? Oh Holy Night

18. Travel at Christmas or stay home? Staying close to home.  The farthest I'd have to drive is an hour and a half. Won't be doing any traveling this year as I have to work from 6am-6pm both Christmas Eve and Christmas

19. Can you name all of Santa's reindeers? Dasher and Dancer and Prancer and Vixen, Comet and Cupid and Donder and Blitzen. Oh, and we can’t forget Rudolph… 

20. Angel on the tree top or a star? Angel

21. Open the presents Christmas Eve or morning? I prefer Christmas morning just depends on where I'm at

22. Most annoying thing about this time of year? Too many people, too much traffic and people with Bah Humbug attitudes. And the rush, there never seems to be enough time during the holiday to do what needs doing. Where is the time to just sit back and relax and enjoy the Christmas season?

23. What is your favorite kind of Christmas cookie? My Oma's nut cookies

24. What is your favorite thing(s) about Christmas time? The carols, and riding around neighborhoods looking at Christmas decorations.

25. Do you decorate your house, yard or both? Most decorations are inside but I have some outside too.

26. Favorite Christmas smell?  The smell of fresh baked Christmas goodies.

27. And last but not least, do you believe in Santa? Sure I do...

1. Wrapping paper or gift bags? Use Both  Bags for Adults and Wrapping for the Kiddo's

6. Favorite gift received as a child? When my Brother who was in the Army surprised us on Christamas Morning . We all got up and he was sitting on the couch hadn't seen him in a year I was 13.

8. Hardest person to buy for?  My parents cause they have everything LOL

9. Easiest person to buy for? My Grandkids they always tell me what they want

10. Worst Christmas gift you ever received? A bottle of Shampoo from my BIL as a Joke

13. When do you start shopping for Christmas? I try for early, but I'm one of those that will be in the stores on Christmas Eve

18. Travel at Christmas or stay home? Go to Moms on Christmas Eve and Christmas Day I cook and everyone is at my house

1. Wrapping paper or gift bags? Wrapping paper.  Doesn't mean I don't use gift bags, but I do prefer to give gifts in wrapping paper. 

2. Real tree or artificial? Both...I think both are nice!

3. When do you put up the tree? Depends on what kind of tree you are using.  Artificial, first few weeks of November...fresh, the weekend of Thanksgiving.  I like to decorate EARLY! 

4. When do you take the tree down? New Years Day or so.

5. Do you like eggnog? Not since WLS.

6. Favorite gift received as a child? My Holly Hobbie Ragdolls.

7. Do you have a nativity scene? No, and it is just because of my homelife.  I don't own too many breakable items in my home.

15. Favorite thing to eat at Christmastime??? Homemade Sugar Cookies (I only eat a bite or 2 because they ARE sugar!)

18. Travel at Christmas or stay home? Staying close to home.

20. Angel on the tree top or a star? Star at our house...Jessie won't have it any other way.

21. Open the presents Christmas Eve or morning? You have to wait until Santa comes, duhhh???   You have to open Christmas MORNING!!!

22. Most annoying thing about this time of year? People *thinking* that just because you give them something that they HAVE to give you something back.  People feeling OBLIGATED to give back to you when you give them a gift.

23. What is your favorite kind of Christmas cookie? Homemade Sugar

24. What is your favorite thing(s) about Christmas time? Christmas Cards, Christmas Lights, Seeing Children dressed up in their Sunday best, Christmas Music, Christmas Generiousity

25. Do you decorate your house, yard or both? Inside house only

26. Favorite Christmas smell?  Christmas Wreath

6. Favorite gift received as a child? My first bicycle that wasnt a hand me down!!

8. Hardest person to buy for?  My MIL

9. Easiest person to buy for? My GRANDson Trent!! Every gift he opens from me I get the same response..How did you know I wanted this Nana.

10. Worst Christmas gift you ever received? It wasnt a gift..It was the first Christmas without my precious Mom!!

12. Favorite Christmas Movie? I love all Christmas movies!!

22. Most annoying thing about this time of year? adds for sales and when you get there to get the merchandise..you find out they only had 1 of thos items.

23. What is your favorite kind of Christmas cookies? Fruit cookies

24. What is your favorite thing(s) about Christmas time? spending time with my friends and family.

25. Do you decorate your house, yard or both? I decorate inside only 

26. Favorite Christmas smell?  Fresh apple cake baking

27. And last but not least, do you believe in Santa? Of course..doesnt everyone!!

1. Wrapping paper or gift bags? I wrap most of my gifts, but I do use bags for unusual shaped things such as purses, etc. 

2. Real tree or artificial?  Artificial...I am allergic to tree sap.

3. When do you put up the tree? I try to get mine up the weekend after Thanksgiving. 

4. When do you take the tree down? That is what I like the least, but I try to get it down as soon after Christmas as possible.

5. Do you like eggnog? No, but John loves it.

6. Favorite gift received as a child? My Chatty Cathy.

7. Do you have a nativity scene? Yes, a few

8. Hardest person to buy for? My mom and one of my daughters

9. Easiest person to buy for? Paul or Adam

10. Worst Christmas gift you ever received? A pair of shoes the 2nd Christmas John and I were married.  He bought me a pair of orthopedic shoes that a lady older than I am now would wear.  My great grandmother wore shoes like those and he thought they were pretty and would be comfy.

12. Favorite Christmas Movie?  A Christmas Story (Ralphie) and I also love "It's a Wonderful Life"

13. When do you start shopping for Christmas?   Usually the day after Christmas for the next year

14. Have you ever recycled a Christmas present? No. 

15. Favorite thing to eat at Christmastime??? It use to be my grandma's fruit cake (soaked in rum.)

17. Favorite Christmas song?  The Christmas Song (Chestnuts Roasting on an open fire.) 

18. Travel at Christmas or stay home? I stay home...everyone comes here.

22. Most annoying thing about this time of year? People with bad attitudes that are in a hurry and people not being happy.

23. What is your favorite kind of Christmas cookie?  Use to be my chocolate dipped cookies with peanut butter.

24. What is your favorite thing(s) about Christmas time?  Seeing all of my family.  Looking at Christmas lights.  Seeing my kids have fun.

25. Do you decorate your house, yard or both?  A lot on the inside and a couple of things outside. 

26. Favorite Christmas smell? The smell of the Christmas tree, which I cannot have any longer, but I still love it.

27. And last but not least, do you believe in Santa?  Well...I want him to come see me so duh...yes.

Going to visit my storage shed and find my winter clothes, clean out my closet, and just generally clean house. Oh, well, if I didn't have vacation, I wouldn't have had the chance to get any of it done anyway.
