Bruising?

I know I need to talk to Dr Freeman about this and I plan to and will be having blood work done in Jan at his request. But I just wanted to see if you guys had ever had this happen before: I feel GREAT, I am down like 173 lbs I'm 18 from goal and am still losing. I have tons of energy and just feel like a new person. But, I am bruising super easy. You can touch me and I'm bruised. I at first had thought it was just since I am so much more active that I am being clumsy and hitting my arms and legs without even realizing it. But my engagement ring is to big and slips rubbing my middle finger and the diamond has put a bruise on my finger, I had a friend playfully pinch the top of my hand, it looks like they beat me. My arms and legs are covered. I was thinking this could be anemia but aren't you usually tired or have other symptoms with that? Like I said I'm going to get with Dr Freeman so no worries was just checking to see if anyone else has had this happen!

Christy that is one of the first things that i thought of also was anemia. Please go ahead and call Dr. Freemans office and talk with Joyce or Ann. You could just get a CBC done and wait on the rest of the blood wor****il January. I also did the very same thing when I had chronic anemai.

Thanks Louise, I have to work Over time today by the time I get off work they will be closed were not even getting lunches this week. So I will give them a call on Monday. I feel like they were watching in my bloodwork anyway because I wasnt due for more until next July and they asked me to get it done in Jan. I guess I need to go ahead and get that done so if thats it maybe we can correct it without the iron infusions.

Yes the iron infusions is no fun. I done them back in 1987. If you do need them and I can answer some questions about them for you let me know.

Please be sure to call first thing Monday morning. I might even call my PCP today if i were you. I was like that when my body was so depleted of iron, but it could also be something more severe.

Louise helped me when i had to take iron infusions. I guess i got lucky, mine werent bad at all. The first round which were a month long, were 3 hours each week. The only BAD problem is finding a vein as i have really horrible ones. They always stuck me in my hand or arm, like a normal iv. The last round i took back in August took only 90 minutes, and i breezed thru those.

Good Luck. Let us know what the doc says!

Christy, this sounds like something not WLS related and you live quite a distance from Anniston.  I suggest you see your PCP as soon as possible for the lab work mentioned by Louise or whatever the doctor requests.  January is a long time to wait for something that could have potential negative effect on you.  If work is a problem then go to a walk-in.

(((Cristy)))

Please get in and be checked!!
I just found out this year I have hypercoagulation. And I am 36! So you never know!
This is not good and can cause clots to hit and cause death.
So PLEASE get in and be checked!! January is too far away and I know Dr. Freeman's office is not close so call your PCP.
I am praying for you!

Let me see if I can put this like my doctor put it....we have less fat so it doesn't take as long for the bruise to show up. Something like that by the time the blood was able to make it to the skin for us to see the bruise when we were heavy, the bruise was mostly absorbed. Now we don't have as much fat and the bruises show up worse. Also I'm very fair skinned and he said that also contributed. If I had a tan (which is impossible) the bruises wouldn't be so obvious. I was scared too, and he told me not to worry about it. But he did do blood work to make sure everything was ok.
