we camp year round....mostly on weekends...or every other...we just leave our motor home there. In the spring thru fall we camp at Elliott Branch (Franklin County AL , northwest area)...it is wonderful there! We just moved over to Slick Rock which is only 6 miles away and they are open in the winter. We have also camped at Joe wheeler too. below is a link to the bear creek campgrounds there is 4 of them i think. If you are ever around here.....and we are about a hr drive from Huntsville....try them out....especially Elliott Branch they open back up mid march.....you would LOVE it there.....we are always at campsite number six...look us up if you ever decide to come out!

PS Joe wheeler is nice too. I forget what number we camped at there, number 22 or something, anyway there is a trial right beside it that you can walk down and it goes to the rest of the park...and we saw numerous deer practically every day we were there...so pretty.
