approved but may not be need help

hi everyone i got approved for surgery been trying for 3years and it finally happened but i was just informed by my doctors nurse he dosent do them anymore so they put me under another doctor and thats fine i like him  but she said that being everything was done under thedr. that dosent do them anymore,i haft to redo everything includeing the 6 mounth diet and go through the approval process again does anyone know if this is true? the 2 drs work together theyre in the same offices same address everything just the name of the dr. has changed. a lady at bc/bs of al. is trying to find out for me and said she would call me back im so afraid ill haft to do this all over again any info you might have would be helpful thanks angela

I can't help you with that, but I'm sending positive thoughts your way so that you won't have to go through all that again!

Angela, I don't understand why you will have to do the 6 months over again since you have a documented record of the 6 months diet.  Anyway...I sure hope you do not have to do it again.  It took me three years also to get approved.  I will be praying that everything will be ok and you will get the go ahead.  It is nice meeting you and I hope we see much more of you.  Please let us know what happens. 

I am not certain, but I would think the new doctor would just resubmit your package under his name. You certainly shouldn't have to do the six month diet over if that was done under your PCP. 

I am also waiting on BCBS/AL to approve my surgery.

Angela, sorry to hear of the troubles but to tell you the truth I don't see you having to do your 6 month diet again. If it was recent, then your new surgeon can just resubmit the info under his name.

Angela not sure if you remember me but I saw you in the office one day with your sister and I was at the nutritionist with her also. Who is not doing them anymore, Dr. Beaver or Dr. Robbins? You can tell I haven't seen them this year my pcp has been doing all my bloodwork and keeping tabs on things. If there is anything I can ever do for you just give me a holler and if ya need my numbers just let me know and i'll send them to ya.

 yes i remeber you, DR.beaver i have no idea why.  and they set me up with robbins which is fine but ive got only 12 mounths from my date thats on the approval letter which will be july 9 2009 , so if you count back ive been approved for a while and cant get anyone to help me its like theyre trying to put me off till later , ive already been set up to come into see dr.robbins twice and both have been cancelled the 1st time was because they said i had to do a sleep study which i did then they told me i had to see the dietician again which i already did this year, and the second time which was wed. because theyve got to resummit everything under dr,robbins and they want me to do the diet and all again which i think is just crazy and ive got to go to his seminar dec something i didnt even know this exsited why was i never told? . ive been doing this for more than 3 years out alot money and because they cant schedule my appointments so i can see the dr. to get this going  i may haft to redo everything. i got denied and appealed and got approved and during that time is when beaver stoped doing them, i wish i knew why tho, thanks and thanks to everyone eles im fixing to call that nurse back again being they cant even return calls its crazy. angela

I can't believe Dr. Beaver quit doing them but let me say this........i'd keep calling and calling and bugging them until I get the answers I need. Also have you talked to BC/BS to say what their take is on them saying you have to do the 6 month diet again? That seems stupid! Plus when did they start having a seminar? I'd just bug them to death......who is the nurse that handles all of that now? If you need anything let me know and i'll help in any way I can :)
How is your sister doing? She make it to her goal? I am down to 134 but it flutuates(sp?) anywhere between 127 and 136 soooo  but no problems!!

the lady from bc/bs just called and i missed her but she left a message saying the dr, would have to resumt for a new predetermanation  along w/ history and a physical she didnt say anything about a 6 mounth diet but im sure she meant that to im trying to get back in touch w/ her to ask if ive got to the diet again so ill know for sure. and yes my sister is doing good and she looks good. not sure if shes at goal but i dont think she needs to lose anymore.  i cant remeber the nurses name i should as many times as we have spoke. i wish i could find someone that has changed doctors after they were approved i know someone has had to that way i would know what to do or expect. i think ill post another post asking if anyone has changed doctors after approval. thanks
