The woman who had nothing bad to say

I hate gossip. I hate hearing people say bad things about other people. So, I naturally loved this story and think you will too.

Picture a small town where everyone knows everyone. There's a certain lady, we'll call her Ruth, who never has a cross thing to say about anyone! Well, every town has to have a drunk, right? So, here's the town drunk who cusses, drinks, is onery to everyone and he gets sick and dies. The day of the funeral rolls around and everyone is asking the question, what in the world will Ruth have to say about this guy?? There's nothing good about him and she can't say there is without lying. The funeral proceeds and the minister has very little to say - just reads some scriptures and ended up with reading the obituary. The service is over and everyone stands around chatting. The talk is of course negative pointing out all the bad things the old drunk had done and some even believed he died because of his evil ways. Ruth is there listening. At one point silence falls and Ruth clears her throat. She looks around at the group and all eyes are on her. There were smirks on their faces because they knew Ruth couldn't say anything good. All of a sudden Ruth gets a big grin on her face and looks the group in the eye and says "Buster sure could whistle good, couldn't he??"

Of course the moral of the story is - everyone has something good we can say about them. Wouldn't it be nice if we could see the good faster than we can point out the bad? Oh yeah!!!!

Love ya'll,
