I have finally gotten my pcp to write a referral for lap band surgery.  My insurance has approved the approval!! I have a seminar date of December 6th in Dothan Alabama.  Can anyone share with me what the steps in the process to surgery are?  Has anyone else used Wiregrass Surgical Associates?

My surgery is November 25Th. I am having the Realize band. Everyone is different when it comes to testing . I already had a C-pap machine for Sleep Apnea so I got a pass on that one No physic's exam either . I only had to have blood work. If you have breathing problems you will need a approval letter from the Pulmonary Doc. Every Doc ic different about what test they order. I am using Doc Miles. Hoped I helped alittle and Welcome to the Board !!

Hi

First let me say welcome to the Bama Board.I used to live in Albeny, my dad was stationed there when he was in the service.I did not use the These Dr. for my RNY i had it done in Mobile. This surgeons have got a lot better than when i had my suergery and they have add Dr. Beavers . the only reson i didn't use them was because they where just starting to do gastric bypass surgery and had not done many that was back in 04.We have a support group that meets every 2nd Tuesday of the month and they will come and speak and answer any questions we have.I Live in Asford witch is only 10 minuts from Dothan. When you com to Dothan give me a call and we can meet somewhere. What time is your seminar and where. my phone number is 334-899-3798 or my cell is 334-718-0420.
Iknow some people that used them for RNY and realy like them .

Hi and welcome to the Bama Board!! I live between Abbeville and Eufaula and am originally from Dothan. I used Dr. Beaver at Wiregrass Surgical and I can't say enough good things about him and the staff there. My neice used Dr. Scott Robbins who is also there and they love him so I think you are in good hands. I haven't been to a support group meeting but have met Pam and she is awesome, she was there the day I had surgery and kept a good check on me!! If you need anything just pm or email me at [email protected]

I had lapband in Aug. 2007. I LOVE my lapband.  I used a Birmingham doctor so I am unsure about the surgical steps in your area, but I wanted to say hello and welcome.

The best decision I ever made was having WLS. I hope you have as much success as so many people on this board. Good Luck,
Nanci
