Makes me MAD !!!!

My DH is just starting the 6 month doc visits to get WLS...Yesterday we went to see a new doc for something totally unrelated and in going over his medical history he asked about smoking & drinking......both he quit doing almost twenty years ago.  Now when he comes to his being overweight I told him of his plan to have WLS & he says, "you already proved you have will power by stopping smoking & drinking, use it to loose weight '"

Brother !!!! If I have heard that once I have heard it a million times !!!! They just don't get it. Never had a weight problem in his life. You can live without smoking & drinking you can't just never eat again.  Do they all think we just decided to just run by the docs office & say, "Oh I think I will have surgery to loose this weight today seems like fun !!!" 

Letting off steam.  it has taken my DH years to make this decision and that stupid doctor has to show his ignorance.

I faced something very similiar when I decided to seek WLS.  My primary doctor, a size 4 female, told me to lose weight or I was dying.  This was after she prescriped two additional pills for my obesity related issues. When I said I was looking into weight loss, her words were, why don't you try to push away from the table and exercise.  I never went back. I'm glad I didn't. A good physician uses a little empathy in diagnosing. She was NOT a good physician.

Good Morning to you gboles,dont waste energy or time on getting mad.Im a firm beliver that f it is meant to be it will be if not it wont be..Learn from what the Doctor told your DH and go from there..I wish him the best and will be praying for both of you. Juju

Gloria, it's so good to see you posting.  I am sorry that you and your husband had to go thru such a trying time yesterday.  You keep on posting and we 'll be there for both of ya'll.
