Hectic Week

Well, firing the housekeeper has become my job for Sunday night.  The last time I was home, I discovered that part of my doll collection was gone.  My pedal cars and several other metal, antique toys were also missing.  I reported it to the police.  Dad changed the locks on the house.  The housekeeper was the only one who had a key other than my Dad and our neighbor across the street, whose house we also have a key to.  Anyway, the dolls have continued to go missing since the police report.  I cannot prove that the housekeeper took the dolls.  However, she is the only one with access to the house other than my Dad.  She often leaves the door unlocked, so if she did not take the dolls, she certainly let the situation be such that others could.  Anyway, I have to fire her before I come back to Alabama.

I have replaced part of the missing ones from ebay over the last few days.  It has been expensive, to say the least.  It is not promising to get any cheaper, either.  One of them is so expensive, I doubt that I will be able to replace it at all.  Two of them are so rare that I doubt that they can be replaced, either.  I am not a happy camper about any of this.  It has definitely put a damper on my trip home and the conference experience.

It does not help that this person suffers from mental illness and may go ballistic when I fire her.  However, I think this will be a good thing in the long run for my dad.

One thing I can't stand is a thief.  I hate you're having to do this and I sure hope you can find your dad some good help.  I'm saying a prayer for the whole situation and everybody involved.  Hugs to you Karla.
