an update and thanks for the prayers and good vibes yesterday
my neurologist told me to go ahead and take the phrenalin yesterday and today since my pcp is out of the office until monday. it contains butilbital which is for the intense head pain and also tylenol which will hopefully take care of this fever i've been running the past couple days. he called in a refill and gave me explicit directions for taking it which i will follow to the letter (unlike in the beginning when things spiraled out of control for me.)
i took kensie to her pediatrician yesterday and it was confirmed that yes, she does in fact have a severe ear infection. she's on antibiotics for that now as well as a phenergan/lortab elixer to take care of the tummy ache from the sinus drainage. the good news is that we caught it early and she isn't experiencing any wheezing so hopefully she won't have to deal with any (or at least not too many) asthma attacks this season. but if she does, we're prepared. we have xopenex respules as well as pulmicort respules for her nebulizer and a xopenex inhaler for her to carry with her in case an attack happens at school.
she also got the flu-mist yesterday afternoon so hopefully she won't get the flu this season. however, i wasn't aware until AFTERWARDS that the flu-MIST is a live virus. (whereas the flu SHOT isn't.) i was under the impression that everything was synthetic now but apparently i was mistaken. BUT, her pediatrician was VERY INSISTANT that she get this because children who have asthma (especially as bad as kensie's gets sometimes) are more likely to end up in the hospital due to the flu than otherwise "healthy" children. so hopefully she's right and kensie will be able to avoid any sicknesses this season![](http://images.obesityhelp.com/_shared/images/smiley/msn/thumbsup.gif)
