I just got back from the doctor. We went over the CT and bone scans. He ordered another chest x-ray as they found a couple of spots on the 3rd and 4 th left ribs and the 7th right rib. He mentioned possible metastatic involvement but told me not to be concerned until he gets todays results back. Does anyone know what this could mean?? Another wait until the 29th. Next week is my second chemo treatment.
Julie, when they put my port in they told me it would take about 30 minutes but it turned out to be a 3 hour ordeal. I woke up in a lot of pain and the doctor kept telling me I shouldn't feel anything. Yeah, right. I'll be praying that your grandmother does well and has no pain. The port has been very helpful with drawing blood. They wouldn't let me start chemo without it but I would imagine every doctor is different. It sure is better than being stuck and poked. I had another B12 shot today and am waiting for it to kick in.
Another 2 lbs down the drain. I'm on so many medications that it isn't funny. One of them today is for anxiety....I didn't know I was suffering from anxiety. I think I'm doing pretty good considering....
Back is killing me now - gotta go.
Love and hugs,
DebbieDoo

Debbie- you are in my thoughts and prayers.
a man here at work about 2 yrs ago had lung cancer, it was in a few of his ribs also, he underwent surgery and had part of a lung removed and the ribs that had the cancer, he is doing great today, yes it did take him a while to recover from the surgery, ( but he is 66 yrs old) but he is all good and healthy now.
I know GOD will watch over you and protect you thru all of this.
Love ya

Thank you Tammy. I wasn't sure if they would do surgery if it turns out to be cancer or if they would just let the chemo try to do the job. I think I knew surgery would be the option. BUT, we don't know for sure that its cancer cells - it could be some kind of damage that has been done in the past. I was thinking that it could even be the surgery for breast cancer - they could have accidently cracked a rib I guess.
Anyway, thank you for mentioning this. I'm 56 but I'm still a pretty spry 56 year old!!!
Love you girl,
DebbieDoo

Oh Honey I'm praying for you! What a MIGHTY HEALING GOD we serve!!!
Know that when we are admists our storms that GOD is present!!! Let Satan rock the boat but GOD will be there to keep it afloat! AMEN!!!
I know you are strong in your faith and that faith will bring you through this!
I am a phone call away.
Thank you for your words. I let my Grandmother read them.. and what a great moment too- she is about to head back for her surgery now. I know this PORT will mean all the difference.
They tried to talk her into it prior to Chemo she said NO. She says NO to alot.. but after being stuck 8 times last weekend at the hospital and a minum of 3 at the cancer center I told her it was time and she agreed. I think she was waiting on me to get here! She saw my PORT and realized its not so bad!! She can only be stuck in one arm due to the mascetomy she can't be stuck on the left side. That made it even more difficult.
I will be watching for updates! I know GOD is at work even now.
Sending love and hugs your way!!!
