"Teddy, the mentally handicapped one!" HAHA!!!! I am sure you have a story behind this title!!!! Love ya Aunt Mary!!!
Yes, I do have a story to tell. This was a throw away cat. My son found him, he's beautiful and a purebreed ragdoll, or so the vet says. The word dumb does not do him justice. I made the mistake of saying I would keep Shannon and Adrians cats for a couple of months, that was 3 year ago. He told me he would take Teddy back at any time. But I know he doesn't have the patience to put up with him and would toss him out the back door.He would not last 15 minutes outside.
My air conditioning went out a last summer. I went to WalMart and bought 4 fans and put all in the living room, fastened all doorways leaving. The other two cats lay under the fans and were just fine. First, let me say at that time my cats did not make a sound. I might go 3 months without hearing a meow from them, then it's usually Teddy. That day I heard the awfullest screaming. Teddy was having a heat stroke. He had been in the hallway and wouldn't get near the fans. You could have rung him out he was so wet with sweat. I dumped him in the kitchen sink and turned the cold water on. He was so weak he couldn't fight it. After about 15 minutes he cooled down and got down and went back to the hot hallway. I had to keep getting him and holding him in front of the fans. When I took Teddy to the vet to have him checked out he told me Teddy was mentally challenged. There is a disease the mother cat gets and she passes retardation on to the kittens. He gave me the name of it but it's to long for me to remember. So he really is. But he doesn't need much brains to train me to wait on him hand and foot.
I hope Alex adjust better. It's hard on them moving. They are creatures of habit and don't like change at all. Somewhat like me. Love, Aunt Mary
