OK I need to know whats going on!!!
I did my yearly check up and the doc said everything was good except my protein level was low. BUT I have this issue going on thats REALLY bothering me. When I went to get my pedicure, two of my toenails have fallen off. They had to replace them with tips! I've NEVER had that problem before. I'm one year out and this is a first for me. This may be too much information but when the nails came off, they weren't raw under the nail or anything...just rough patchy skin so they're not sore or anything. At first, I thought "Oh no, my calcium level is low!"...but my levels were fine.
What gives? Anyone else ever had this to happen to you? I'm at a loss and this is really bothering me!

Good question. I'm not real sure but seems like I did see that on the lab request. Would that make your toenails fall off?? I'm freaked out by this. I've done real well with the surgery and this is the only real side effect that I'm having. When the first one fell off, I thought it was just a freak thing, but now another one has fell off.

Vicky,
Dry, Brittle, Flaky nails are a symptom of thyroid problems. Dry Hair, Dry Skin, Fatigue and sensitivity to heat or cold are also some of the symptoms of Thyroid disease that comes to mind. Your health care provider has probably screened for this, but you may want to ask them just to be sure.
Good Luck!
