How much time

should I allow between taking my calcium and iron.  I read that you could not take the two close but don't remember the time frame.  I had a  bone scan screening this week and was referred for further evaluation.  So I found my bottle of calcium and I am trying to remember to take it.  I am also trying to take the iron.  I am not a med person and I have been so lax taking care of me.  I hope I can recoup some of what I have lost due to neglect.

Debbie,

I am so sorry to hear about the bone scan results!  I do believe your support group leader was always preaching on the importance of VITAMINS!!!

Okay, I will back off with the fussin'.  You must wait 2 hours between calcium and iron.  Do you take a multivitamin?  If you don't, you better.  I don't want to have to come to Chatom to spank you!!!

Still not sure about Saturday...got your PM's will let you know sometime tomorrow.  It depends on several things.

I'm only fussin' cause I love you...Tell Jimmy I send my love (back off Mis Mary)!!!

Hey my little lady bug and Connie!
my bone scan came back not soo good either, told me to kick up my calcium! to about 1000 a day!  so i do the chewables..  i still do the centrum multi vitamin also, seems that i have to take too much prescribed meds ( for thyroid and RA) that the vitamins don't sit well on my tummy if i take the pills.
  I love Ya'll!
Lady bug...  look in your mailbox in the next few days.. i sent you a prize!!!

Hi Tammy,

My bone scan was great.  I have been taking 1500mg of calcium since my surgery.  That is what Dr. Weinstein said to take.  I was using the chewable - Viactive, but found out that they are Calcium Carbonate and since our food doesn't go through our old stomachs, we do not digest it.  We are supposed to take Calcium Citrate.  I do take pills, but I make sure they will dissolve in room temperature water within 20 minutes.  If they don't then they won't be digested.

Love you too!!
