O.K. does anyone know????

I am attending a seminar with Dr. Mailapur I have been to one with another dr. put after reading about Dr. Mailapur and the wonderful thinkg all his patients have said though I would go see for myself. My insurance only pays 50% of the actual surgery but will pay 90% of after care fills office visits ect. from what I have read the lap-band is around $15,000 - $25,000 I have read that that includes the first year of fills and care is it possible to get a price for the surgery alone and has anyone done this???  I could maybe do 7,500 but the last dr said $25,000 and I can't afford $12,500 so was just wondering if this might be an option???

I love Dr. M and the ladies in his office! If you talk to Jessica or one of the other ladies they should let you know what your cost will be. My insurance covered 90% and I had to pay I think 212 and change I think to Dr. M. The biggest chunk will be the Huntsville Hosp. portion of the bill which I think they filed 34K to BC BS of MN but ins only allowed for 6K I think. Do you have a flexible spending account with your company? If so I recommend taking the max by your company and using that to pay for most of your surgery. It will lower your taxable income and you'll see a slight difference in your paycheck but all in all it is well worth it.

Also I just read on another board that they are starting a gastric banding support group at the Hsv Hosp Wellness Center the first Thursday of the month from 5 to 6 PM. If you want to talk about Dr. M and the band just send me a message.
