I'm home...
I was at the endoscopy center by 7:45 and home by 9:30.
I can't get over how alert and fine I feel. I thought I would at least have a sore throat.
Anyway, I have been put on prevacid.
I was told I have inflamation but other than that, who knows.
He took a biopsy but I assume that is just a regular procedure.
He said nothing but "inflammation" and handed Dale a prescription.
With that being said, I started crying when the doc left because I still have unanswered questions. I guess I should be happy that he didn't find anything but it doesn't explain the pain.
Is this constant pain inflammation? I guess I will be in a wait and see game until I can get back into my PCP. Hopefully it is just inflamation and the Prevacid will help. Who knows, I have been on it a week now and it isn't helping. How long does it take?
I don't feel better after today's scope. I am not happy with the uncertainty.
So glad to hear that the procedure went well, but sorry to hear you aren't feeling 'better' about things...maybe it will just take some time.
My hubby had to go on Nexium back in June (3 mos postop RNY). We asked Dr. Freeman about prilosec (since it's available OTC) and he strongly suggested the Nexium. Tho it takes a while to get into your system, and has to be taken regularly, it has helped him tremendously...maybe prevacid works the same way??? We'll be praying for you to feel better soon!
I love you and I am so glad you are feeling alert to post!!
I am still praying for you!
I don't think this pain is from just inflammation.. although inflammation can cause alot of problems I suppose it would depend on how bad the inflammation is.. No antibotics??
hmmmm..... what caused the inflammation???
Is there something going on that caused that?? vomiting issues??
And... now ... could this pain be from scar tissue??
I am praying we find the answers and my friend, Gail is feeling better soon!
My God is a MIGHTY GOD! He heals!!! And I am claiming in JESUS NAME that Gail be healed!!!

If I remember correctly, the Prevacid will take of the pain and it shouldn't take all that long. Of course, it's been about 6 years ago that I went through this. I had a bad flare up before my gastric bypass surgery and once I started back on the Prevacid it cleared up within a few days. It seems like a week should be plenty of time for this to be helping so there may be more to it than inflammation. I sure hate that you are going through this and will keep you in my prayers.
Love,
Debbie
I guess time will tell in this matter.
What is so strange is that I have been on a proton pump inhibitor now since Sept 10th and no relief yet. Although I just started Prevacid last week, I was on Protonix before that. I guess on to Plan B whatever that may be!

And Julie, no I haven't had vomitting issues. In the 4 years since my RNY I have never vomitted. I have had the foamies one time but that was due to me being an idiot and eating a soft pretzel at a baseball game about a year ago. And you are correct, it could still be adhesions and all the Prevacid in the world won't help that.
As far as inflammation, I don't know how...I don't believe I have acid reflux...it doesn't back up into my esophogus and I don't ever have heartburn. I guess I could... I do have a metallic taste in my mouth alot.
I guess my next step is to go back to my PCP in a few weeks if the Prevacid doesn't help and move on from there.
I appreciate all the prayers! I love you all!
So glad you are home doing good. Praying this gets you fixed up and your pain will be gone before long. Have a Wonderful BLESSEd night my friend.
Love ya,
Michele
