I looked it up and I misquoted slightly...it is:

"It is better to be thought a fool, than to open your mouth and remove all doubt."

That is what happens when you get old...you misquote things.  I will look them up in advance in the future.  I looked for some on marriage, but I couldn't find any positive ones.  Does that say something about our society?  I found several that were funny, but they seemed just plain mean.
