SICK
Hi everybody,
I have picked up a virus of some kind. I hope it passes tomorrow so we can at least come up for the wedding. I just got on line to get the motel phone number so I could cancel our reservation. If I get better, we will try to drive up in the afternoon. If I don't make it please give Randall and Lucy a BIG hug for me.

Connie, I'm so sorry that you are ill. I had it early this week and it only lasted for the night. I hope you get better by tomorrow, cause I sure do want to see you and give you a big ol' hug. I got some salmon for ya too. I know you don't want to miss that. ha ha!!! Get well and hurry on down to Luverne.

Well, that just settles it then. I can't come because even though I now have a dependable car, I don't have the gas to get there. Also, I have a filling that fell out of a tooth, not to mention two other teeth that are painfull and needing work. The nice wonderful dentist agreed to write me a script for antibiotics and pain meds, so I was going to spend all day in bed. However at 9am, the phone rang and Daddy's car battery was dead, so he was unable to get Mama to the beauty shop who hasn't had her hair permed or rolled lately and was looking rather shaggy. Since she has a back that is broken in several places, she can't just go out for just anybody.
Therefore, Joni got the call at 9am and we were on our way to get a wash and set even if we are completely unable to find anyone to do a "permanent" on her hair since her hairdresser is retiring and won't be doing hairdos for a whole group of horrified elderly women who live for that Friday morning hair fixin.' The doctors are wanting to add Mama to Daddy's total help with the hospice people and I am hoping there will be someone on that team who can fix her hair without much ado. All the little old ladies were in a panic over who was now going to do their hair. After all, I've learned from my mother that no matter whether your back has been broken in several places and no matter how bad it hurts and no matter whether your husband's car's battery is dead...somehoe there must be someone who can call who will immediately and whisk Mama to the beauty show, go in and talk to her friends, then take her home, take the battery out of there car, take it to Wal-Mart with the receipt showing the battery was purchased 2 months ago, then brought back to their house where the nice man next door to them helped me put it in. He had the tools I needed and the socket extenders. My parents agreed to let me borrow the money to get my tooth fixed, but couldn't get an appt. with a dentist until Monday. I have hopes I can make it through the weekend without getting the plyers and pulling the damned thing myself. I'm supposed to go to Red Bay on Monday Night for a jewelry sales training meeting, but may end up lying in bed on drugs.
Anyway, since I am going to be in bed sick and drugged up and don't have enough gas to get to LuVerne and since Connie is sick, the only viable option to all of this is for Randall and Lucy to temporarily postpone their wedding until NEXT weekend when it will be more convenient for me and Connie. It IS always about ME, of course, and I'm sure everyone agrees, so why not have this wedding on October 4th? Seems like a perfect alternative to me
Im sure those of you reading this think the dentist gave me drugs that were way too strong and that I am not making good sense. However, from my frame of mind, it seems like the perfect solution!

I love you guys! I'm off to go lie down now and will dream about wonderful things like weddings and red PT Cruisers. I should get my new (to me) car on Monday. It had to have a new radiator and a windshield repair.
Gisela, if you read this, thank you for your generous offer. I appreciate it more than you know, but I'm not going to be able to get there this time. Someday I am going to be headed that way and I want to see everyone on my way to Gisela's house!

Oh Sister! I sure hope you are feeling better this AM! I brought our crayons! Our other cell buddy sent me some "BIG" ones!!! Debbie said she could play in the cell for a while! LOL
